"FALCON 2-1 , This is Anchorhead Lead of the French Navy, you have threatened a french naval vessel in international waters and are currently engaging Aircraft of the French Navy. If you do not disengage immediately, we will be forced to engage."

Deciding almost immediately that the Swedes weren't going to disengage, the Rafales would break again to pull back around the Gripens, their own one-of-a-kind and highly advanced electronic warfare suite to jam opposing radars as well. As soon as they broke, they would merge back behind the less agile and less maneuverable Gripens. Using their IRST, the pilots would lock on their Matra Magic II IR missiles, which would not require a radar lock, but would not arm or fire their missiles yet. The leader, in particular, would be extra careful not only to keep his missile locked, but also to keep the lead Gripen in his foresight, the 4th Rafale keeping to his rear.

The pilots would be absolutely baffled by the rubbish spout by the French pilots however, given their extreme training and operational experience they'd continue their defensive roll to prevent further lock-on - this would include the formation starbursting into three completely separate directions where they would begin with the one-on-one dogfight between aircraft. It should be explicitly noted that until this point the Swedish Royal Air Force have not attempted to lock-on weaponry systems to the French aircraft and have, up to now, remained within the confines of international law with full communication of their intentions via maritime and air traffic radio. Being less manoeuvrable and less agile was almost certainly a misnomer - the Saab JAS 39B Gripen was specifically designed for it's defensive capabilities and remains one of the most advanced combat aircraft in existence, although it was of very close likeness to the specification of the Dassault Rafale.

"Anchorhead Lead, Anchorhead Lead, this is FALCON-21 of the Swedish Royal Air Force - I am instructed by His Majesty's Government of the Kingdom of Sweden that you must divert your course immediately. Your actions are being recorded. Vector north immediately or you may be fired upon."

Images of the French aircraft are immediately sent to the Department of Defence for analysis whereby they would begin to analyse the armament across the hard-points of the aircrafts wings alongside the identification of the make and model of the aircraft itself.

Given the French aircraft are now persistently targeting the Swedish jets and proactively seeking radar the Department of Defence order the immediate deployment of the remainder of the Norrbotten Air Force Wing, 1st Rapid Reaction Squadron, 2nd Rapid Reaction Flight namely FALCON-24, FALCON-25 and FALCON-26 which would too depart with a full outfit of defensive capability, fully fuelled and analysed for aerial suitability prior to departure, 2x GBU-12 Paveway II laser-guided bomb, 4x AIM-9 Sidewinder and 2x MBDA MICA. Following the ground cre authorisation the aircraft would waste no time roaring down the runway of Luleå Air Base towards the incident location. Meanwhile the continued evasive action of FALCON-24, FALCON-25 and FALCON-26 would be with the necessity to acquire their own systems lock on the French aircraft.

At the same time HSwMS Naresuan (F10), HSwMS Songtham (F11), HSwMS Hesse (F17), HSwMS Saxony (F18) and HSwMS Saarland (F19) on the water would attempt their own acquisition of the aircraft which were by now flying in very close proximity, this was done in consideration for the friendlies also actively manoeuvring in the air. The ships would broadcast their own radio communication to the French.

"Anchorhead Lead, Anchorhead Lead, this is warship Naresuan of His Majesty's Government of the Kingodm of Sweden - you are operating in close proximity of our vessel which is operating a high powered radar system which may unintentionally and adversely effect your on-board systems. Please acknowledge."

All relevant information necessary for the defence of the Kingdom of Norway are forwarded via encrypted means, this included the number of aircraft and their actions towards the Swedish Royal Air Force. This was now perceived as a real and genuine threat.

Again the Rafales would pull back around to maintain a bead on the Gripens, maintaining their boresights and pulling in close enough to use their guns.

"De Gaulle Control, Anchorhead Lead requests permission to fire, repeat."

"Negative Anchorhead, do not fire unless fired upon."

Scowling at the orders from the carrier, the Anchorhead leader would think for a few seconds before keying his mic to his wingman, "4, take my Bogey, I'm going to have some fun."


With that, the Lead Rafale would fly up behind the Gripen before inverting himself and flying directly above the Gripen. Once he was in a satisfactory position above the Gripen, he would come within 3 meters of the Gripen's canopy before extending his middle finger in an obscene gesture, before climbing 50 meters, rolling back over, and breaking upwards, going vertical before pulling into a vantage point where he could track his own aircraft (and, to what degree possible, the Swedish aircraft) and command the Aerial battle.




With Radar picking up more aircraft burning towards the location of the Incident, the De Gaulle's CAG (Commander, Air Group) would launch a flight of 4 Alert Fighters, each carrying 2 Matra Magic II missiles as well as 2 MICA IRs and 2 MICA EMs. Soon after launching, they would group up in a loose formation towards the location of the ongoing action. Keying the secure comms, the lead of this new flight would speak, "Anchorhead Lead, this is Chevalier Lead, we're joining the engagement."

HNoMS Bergen would now arrive on scene to assist their Swedish counterparts with the ongoing situation, defensive capabilities were now put in place to defend the integrity of Norwegian territorial waters as activity on board the Norwegian vessel was busy as sailors monitored the sea and aerial radars to track the French enemy ships and aircraft which were overhead. Intelligence would be passed onto their Swedish counterparts through encrypted channels.

At Ørland Main Air Station, the pilots involved in the operation would be fed intelligence by their commanders and other Royal Norwegian Air Force personnel as they awaited orders to deploy, the intelligence was real-time from the Royal Norwegian Navy and analysts would gather everything they could on the aircraft type, weaponry and other important information which could come in handy from the Norwegian and Swedish intelligence.

Back on the HNoMS Bergen, radar operators would make contact with the French aircraft operating near Norwegian airspace. Weapons operators onboard would also begin to make their move and would start briefing on what was happening overhead. The Prime Minister was also being fed communications from the HNoMS Bergen as they tried to determine the French intentions.

"Anchorhead Lead, this is the Royal Norwegian Navy vessel Bergen, you are operating extremely close to Norwegian airspace, please identify your intentions and divert your course away immediately. I repeat, please state your intentions and divert your course."

The Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier is equipped, at manufacturers standard, with air search radar to a maximum range of 370km - given the positioning of Luleå Air Base, home of the Norrbotton Air Force Wing, on the very coat of the Gulf of Bothnia and the positioning of the Carrier Strike Group which allegedly remains outside of Norwegian territorial waters, the carrier would only begin to detect the additional reacting aircraft upon them reaching the north Norwegian-Swedish border; with only moments travel remaining before they reach the ongoing conquest for air superiority. Aircraft and maritime assets remain responsible for their actions and continue to record the actions of the French Navy, especially their extremely aerial acrobatics with unsuspecting Swedish Air Force pilots; behaviour unbecoming of an Armed Forces pilot.

None-the-less, the rapid approach of the aircraft would prompt and immediate drop in altitude by the Swedish pilots whom would again begin their roll and hard bank to lose the French aircraft; with this they would continue into fly directly into Norwegian airspace. The behaviour of the French pilots grants the Swedish Air Force the ability to refuse the pilots access to governed airspace, in conjunction with the Norwegian government, with their flying ability found to be unsafe and/or not sufficiently overseen by their authorities. This unequivocally affirmed by international law. A radio communication is broadcast on a second occasion, coinciding with the arrival of FALCON-24, FALCON-25 and FALCON-26 whom internationally remain at some distance from the other three jets. All aircraft would resource themselves within Norwegian controlled airspace.

"Anchorhead Lead, this is FALCON-21 of the Swedish Royal Air Force, I am instructed by His Majesty's Government that in line with internationally recognised defence agreement, the Nordic Concordant, your travel via Norwegian territorial waters and controlled airspace has been forbidden. Violation of this restriction is a violation of international law and you may be fired upon. Vector north immediately. Acknowledge."

The three aircraft still outside Norwegian airspace would then dispense chaff and flares from the aircraft before banking hard back towards the Norwegian coastline - throughout this interaction RUFA-1 would continue to monitor the airspace and sea surface for combatants and their manoeuvres reporting directly back to the Department of Defence to make strategic decisions. All aircraft would now patrol within the Norway FIR (ENOR).

"Falcon-21, No Such agreement exists between your government and any other current government, therefore such agreements are null and void. However, given you have withdrawn from International Airspace, we are returning to the airspace controlled by our Carrier. Any attempt to re-engage will be taken as a hostile act and will be met as doctrine demands. Consider yourselves lucky, out."

The Planes would make the trek back to the Charles de Gaulle, while Chevalier flight would take their place for a few minutes as a rearguard until also returning to the Charles de Gaulle. Given as the Swedish Aircraft were successfully forced back into non-international airspace, the mission was considered a success, and the Charles de Gaulle Strike Group would return to Toulon via JQ-IQ-IP-IO-IN-IM-JM-JN, again, it would be expected to take about 50 hours. Operation Silent Daschund and Operation Dead Rockfish were both concluded, the former considered only partially successful while the latter would be considered entirely successful.



By now, the FRS Opale would have returned to Brest Naval Arsenal, where it would dock and its crew debriefed and given liberty.

Charles de Guelle aircraft carrier

Having absolutely no idea what the French were referring to they would watch as they vector away from Norwegian airspace and back towards the carrier, prompting FALCON-21, FALCON-22, FALCON-23, FALCON-24, FALCON-25 and FALCON-26 to come together in a starburst diamond formation and make rapid speed directly towards the Carrier Strike Group in once final show of force. The aircraft would fly in such a manner that the rattle towards the carrier, unsuspectingly, with full throttle to make their best traffic to Mach 2 prior to arrival at the vessels; all aircraft would enable their electronic warfare suite, ensuring they were operating in a stealth capacity, jammers activated and appropriate countermeasure dispensers ready for use. The Swedish Air Force would maintain absolute radio silence as they approach, at speed, the Charles de Guelle Aircraft Carrier travelling back towards France yet still not far from the Norwegian coastline.

The roar of the jet engines would explode across the deck of the ship as they flow at a relatively low altitude although maintaining appropriate airspace in order to enable emergency manoeuvring to take place between one another as well as the surface of the water. FALCON-21, the lead aircraft throughout this exchange, would release a short radio message to the French:

"Unidentified carrier, unidentified carrier, this is FALCON-21 - bon voyage!"

Upon clearing the deck of the aircraft carrier and supporting vessels all six jets would release both chaffs and flares from their respective dispensers before pitching up to make best speed to the highest altitude they could in the shortest amount of time possible before then, again, vectoring back towards the Norwegian coastline to begin a loop of the Carrier Strike Group. Meanwhile, RUFA-1 would continue their monitoring of the vessels movements and any departing aircraft to forewarn the FALCON callsigns of any impending threats.

The Norwegian Armed Forces are informed of a successful interception and the enactment of the Nordic Concordant at 1921hrs for operational debrief within their Ministry of Defence. The Swedish Department of Defence would continue to monitor the situation pending the French Navy's complete withdrawal from the Nordic region and areas of specific interest in the surrounding area.

Similarly all Swedish Armed Forces assets would return to their respective Naval Base(s) and Air Base(s) for debriefing on the conflict with France. This raised a valid point in respect to anti-submarine capabilities and the continued operation of assets in and around French territorial waters to monitor and maintain analysis of the threat from continental Europe in particular. This operation would remain classified Top Secret on the basis that publication could expose the highly classified Nordic SOSUS network and/or it's response capacity.
