PROJECT INFORMATION | Argentina's agroindustry ministry announced that the national government will spend over US$ 500,000,000 on infrastructure projects to prevent floods and increase the productivity of the important argentine agricultural sector. By reducing the impact from rain, the Flood Risk Management Support Project will help farmers to better manage and control their crops and cattle, guaranteeing a more foreseeable harvest. The argentine Pampa is a very fertile plain, known as the heart of the argentine agricultural sector. But the same rivers and basins that make its soil rich in minerals are also easily subject to increased rainfall and extraordinary climate events (which have increased during the last decades due to global warming). |
