In the quiet of his office, Luís Amado picked up the secure phone and encrypted line, his fingers dialing the number of his homologue in Poland. The soft hum of the dial tone filled the room as he waited for the connection to Poland to be established. His mind was focused, thoughts carefully arranged for the conversation ahead. Alongsie was his aides, two top diplomats ready to help him.

The phone rang, each tone echoing and increasing the anticipation of the moment. Luís leaned back slightly in his chair, his gaze fixed on a point in the distance, overlooking Lisbon, as he prepared to speak. The importance of this call was not lost on him; the situation in Syria was delicate, and every ally counted. As the ringing continued, Luís took a steadying breath, ready to engage in diplomatic dialogue as soon as the call was answered. The line clicked, and a voice came through, signaling the start of what could be a pivotal discussion.

"Good day, this is Luís Amado, Secretary of State of the Portuguese Republic. I am calling to speak with the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs regarding a matter of mutual interest." ManBear

It was a quiet day in the usually bustling Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The normal hustle and bustle of people walking to and fro, the sounds of shuffling paperwork was uncharacteristically absent as the lone phone range at the desk of a young assistant within the Ministry. The young man would answer the encrypted and secured phone line with a cheery voice.

"Thank you for calling the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please hold while I see if Minister Borusewicz is available." The line would have a brief moment of static before contemporary hold music would play for around fifteen seconds before the same cheery voice would come back on. "Thank you for holding and I do apologize for the wait. I will transfer you to the Minister's office now. Thank you and have a nice day, Mr. Secretary."

The line would ring twice before a deep, raspy voice of a heavy smoker answer the phone in English with a heavy Polish accent.

"Good after, Secretary Amado. I do not believe we've had much experience talking to one another but it is a pleasure to speak with you. How can I help our Portuguese friends today?"

"Good afternoon, Minister Borusewicz. Thank you for taking my call. It is indeed a pleasure to speak with you" He paused briefly, allowing the pleasantries to settle before continuing with a tone that showed urgency.

"I am reaching out to discuss the increasingly volatile situation in Syria. As you are aware, the conflict has escalated, and the humanitarian crisis is deepening. The stability of the Mediterranean region is at stake, and it is paramount that we address this issue collectively. Portugal is deeply concerned about the impact of the Syrian conflict on regional security. We believe that a joint resolution at the Global Assembly, calling for the deployment of international peacekeeping forces, could be a crucial step towards stabilizing the region."

He continued, outlining the proposal, "Our vision includes recognizing a successor state in Syria that respects democratic principles and human rights. This would involve supporting the establishment of an autonomous Kurdish region within Syria, protected by international laws, and facilitating democratic elections to ensure the Syrian people can determine their own future."

"We would greatly appreciate knowing Poland's position on this matter. Your insights and support would be invaluable in our collective efforts to bring peace and stability to Syria and the broader Mediterranean region, we believe that by working together, we can make a significant difference. Portugal is committed to engaging in meaningful dialogue and action to resolve the Syrian crisis, and we hope that Poland will join us in this endeavor." ManBear

"I regret the grave circumstances that bring us to this discussion. Poland truly condemns the ongoing conflict within Syria. Already, in its infancy, this conflict has caused immense human suffering and dangerously destabilized the Mediterranean region. This crisis needs...no demands decisive action from the international community.

As for the Kurdish people, Poland firmly supports the Kurdish people's right to self governance within a democratic framework. The Kurds have long played a crucial role in maintaining stability and combating extremism. Thus it is Poland's opinion that their future must be safeguarded. Any lasting resolution for Syria must include protections for Kurdish autonomy under international law and, to that end, Poland has already begun diplomatic efforts to establish communication with the Kurdish leadership. We seek to understand their priorities and ensure that their voices are heard in any possible negotiations shaping Syria's future.

Given the involvement of Russian, French, and the potentiality of Thai involvement within the conflict, the risk of external powers exploiting the conflict for their own strategic aims is growing. It is imperative that a neutral and independent peacekeeping force is deployed to prevent the further escalation of the conflict. We here in Poland are prepared to take a leadership role alongside Portugal in organizing and commanding a European-led peacekeeping mission under Global Assembly mandate. Our forces would focus on stabilizing the contested and northern regions, protecting civilians, and ensuring that all parties, especially the Kurds, have a stake in Syria's democratic transition. We already have a force stationed in the former Empire of the Congo ready to deploy at a moment's notice.

Like the Republic of Poland in the past with the Congolese peacekeeping force and later for the Congolese War, we are ready to work with Portugal to draft a Global Assembly resolution that prioritizes an immediate ceasefire, peacekeeping deployment, and a political framework that upholds Kurdish rights and Syrian sovereignty. We will not allow foreign actors to manipulate this crisis for their own gain. We stand for the Syrian people's right to determine their future free from the coercion of foreign nations.

Let us work together to restore peace and stability in Syria."
