Authorization for an Israeli deployment to South Africa was given the green light as crews worked through the night to load up a Lockheed C-130 Hercules with vital medical equipment such as vaccines, personal protective equipment and other equipment to ensure that Israeli medical teams had the right equipment to treat patients in whatever speciality they worked in. Another Lockheed C-130 Hercules was also loaded up with weaponry for each military police officer on the ground and these included M4 carbines and Glock 17 handguns as well as other equipment such as handcuffs and bulletproof vests to commit to doing their job in the safest manner. The two aircraft would be fully fueled and ready for take off and they took off in a safe manner to ensure that they could reach the designated refueling point over the middle of Africa, specifically over Sudan and the Congo.

Two fully fueled Boeing 767's from El Al had been commandeered out by the Ministry of Defense to ferry the following units out to South Africa and they took off just before 5am local time, turning south and heading down towards Africa. The atmosphere onboard was calm with personnel grabbing some much needed rest after saying goodbyes to their families before being deployed to South Africa, watching some television or shared small talk between themselves.

- 645th "Ta'oz" Military Police Battalion (200x Military Police Personnel)
- Rebecca Sieff Hospital Military Unit (500x Reserve Personnel)

The deployment of Israeli assets would be made through KM > KL > KK > KI > KH > KG > JF with each plane coordinating with local air traffic controllers to comply with safety regulations. The Swedish Department of Defense would be informed through a private and encrypted channel that the Israel Defense Force had began its deployment and had given them notice of where the Israeli Air Force was going to meet up to be refueled using Swedish assets in the region.

The Turkish A330-300 would land in Pretoria after the embassy staff had cleared out and destroyed all sensitive material. The Aircraft would then be readied for the flight back to Ankara and loaded with all Embassy staff. This would be the final time Turkey would step foot in this horrible nation and the end of a unfortunate chapter in Turkish Politics. It would be carefully noted that it was likely that Swedish forces were on their way and that work must be done with haste as to avoid an encounter. This would be Done so privately and coordinated with ATC so that no nation could be aware of the A330‘s departure. Any civilian Government vehicles would be rendered inoperable and of no use to looters that would likely descend on the embassy once staff and security had left. Taking off, the Aircraft would take the route of (KG>KH>KI>KK>KL>KM) and uneventfully land in Ankara. Hours later local news media would be allowed to report on the departure of the Turkish Embassy Staff From South Africa.

It would not take long for word to spread throughout Van Rhynsdorp of the Swedish troops arrival in the otherwise barren carpark beside the garage. The squad awake and keeping guard whilst the others rested would quickly be swarmed by locals not only wanted to speak to the troops, thank them for their service but also wanting to have a look around the European military vehicles and look at the equipment they were carrying. Of course, in an attempt to continue the strong South African-Swedish relationship, the personnel wold happily explain various mechanisms of the vehicle which aided crew comfort and show off their weapons, in their safety function, to the locals. In their droves children would begin to run around the carpark, playing with one another as their families were drawn into the growing crowd. The troops would take photographs with local children and families, smiling and playing in an attempt to de-militarise the image the Swedish Armed Forces were presenting in the country.

In a few hours, once the crew had cycled through a resting pattern, drivers were changed in each vehicle to allow opportunity for the initial drivers to rest following the concertation-rich position. The vehicles would be fully fuelled before they them moved off, in convoy, to Calvinia - the next stop on their journey.

By now the Citizen Focus Program was well under way with the addition of the Israeli Defence Forces and soon-to-be Royal Thai Armed Forces which will see the rapid rollout of the fundamental stages of operation. To ensure that the Israeli C-130 was refuelled at the appropriate point, the departure time, speed, altitude and payload information would be obtained from the Israeli Air Force prior to the departure of the Lockheed Martin KC-130J of the Antarctic Air Force Wing, 3rd Air Transport Squadron based at Marion Island Air Force Base. Naturally the aircraft would depart following pre-flight checks and depart via the the most direct route to the prearranged refuelling location over Sudan.

Once in range the C-130, flying with the callsign WHALE, would authorise the C-130 to approach the tail-end of the refuelling aircraft.

Under the careful guidance of both flight crews, one after another, both Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules would line up with the Swedish Lockheed Martin KC-130J and both planes would take enough fuel to continue the journey onwards from their present position, thanking their Swedish friends, they would continue onto South Africa. All three planes would fly over Table Mountain towards the north of Cape Town and would touch down one after another under the careful guidance of Swedish Air Force personnel on the ground at Air Force Base Ysterplaat on the southwestern coast of South Africa.

Once all three aircraft had parked up, personnel would begin dismounting from the aircraft into the scorching South African weather. Israeli personnel would begin to mingle and share small talk with their Swedish counterparts as loadmasters began to unload both Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules aircraft and bring in supplies to one of the hangers out of reach from the sun. Personnel worked tirelessly throughout the day to ensure that all equipment had been offloaded from the aircraft in the quickest time possible.

Major General Eli Rabbinowitz and the rest of the Israeli senior commanders on the ground would make their way to attempt to find the Commander of the Swedish Military efforts on the ground in South Africa to introduce themselves.

Both airplanes have been taken off for about 10 hours now. The Humanitarian aid force is close and closer to South Africa, Wonderboom Airport. The situation in the airplane is delightful, and the personnel's morale is Excellent.

Readiness phase
First phase:
The airplane will continue like that for 20 minutes until an announcement of both airplanes. "Listen, soldiers. This is Major General Therdchai Chaisurivirat, your beloved leader. Uncle Pon tells me that we will arrive at Wonderboom airport in 15 minutes, so here is the plan. First, all of you have to wear a night goggle." The personnel in the airplanes would take their night goggle, wear them, and turn it on. "Now, check your M16A4 and M1911. Both should have a full round inside their magazine. Also, make sure that you have another 3 magazines for M16A4 and 4 magazines for M1911. If you have everything ready, put the magazine into pockets that attached to your seatbelt." The personnel would check their readiness. "Okay, for other people that aren't real soldiers you will only have 2 reserve magazines for M16A4, and 1 reserve magazine for M1911. Combat Medic, please ensure that your advanced first aid kit is ready. Signal unit, please ensure that your communication things are ready because communication is a key in any battle. Combat Engineer, please also ensure that your toolbox is ready. Our equipment can be broken any time." The personnel would take 6 minutes to prepare themselves.

Second phase:
"We are landing" an announcement is said "Okay, soldier listen here. We can see everything in darkness, and let's assume that someone is waiting for us there. The airplane light will turn off, and we will rush off the airplane with our night goggles on. Our airplane will land separately. The airplane that Colonel Wasi Sarit will land at Airbase side. The airplane that I am in will land on the military base side. Colonel Wasi Sarit, I trust in your skill and your men. You have to lead them to search the airbase facility. I will lead my men to search the military base, and you will come to support me after you finish searching the airbase." The officer and personnel will discuss together to prepare themselves for 7 minutes.

The last phase - rush out.
On the aircrew side, they are carefully landing because they have turned off their light, and the runway is very dark. The aircrew takes 10 minutes to land with their professional skill.
The airplane would finish landing, and the announcement will be turned on"We have finished landing, good luck." Major General Therdchai Chaisurivirat orders his men to rush out of an airplane as fast as they can and would rush to the military base area, and Colonel Wasi Sarit also orders his men to rush out of an airplane to the airbase area.

TOP SECRET
Bophuthatswana Campaign
May 1999

The convoy would make it's way through Calvinia in a flying-visit fashion, primarily because the location had such a small population they were either working, tending to their land or simply inside their houses and did not immediately notice the convoy of vehicles enter the town. However, as they did on many occasions, they'd ensure they liaised with the locals that did take notice of their presence. The rear-most vehicle would slow down, communicating via radio to ensure they were not left behind, and took opportunity for a couple of the personnel to dismount, shake hands, and have an open and frank conversation with the locals in the town. The troops would listen carefully to what matters to the locals, primarily for intelligence purposes but also as a genuine care.

For the first time in their journey the front-most vehicle is approached by an adult male in company with two children who begin to knock on the window of the cab. Bullet proof glass tends not to roll down in the usual electronic window fashion prompting the driver to prop open the door to begin conversation. The convoy grinds to a halt. The male begins to explain to the drive that the town has been long neglected in terms of regional spending which has in-turn resulted in the slow decay of local infrastructure, including that of a lean-to attached to the side of his property which had since collapsed and become a genuine danger to the children that play nearby. Peering just behind the man it was clear what he were referring to, as a small primarily wooded and corrugated tin roofed structure lay in rubble on the ground with one the odd pillar of white-painted wood jutting out from the pile of what was not damaged construction material. From the rubble it was clear how a path had been carved in to provide access to his house which would otherwise have been completely blocked as a result of the accident. The Lieutenant struggled to let this go ignored, and instructed the personnel to dismount and rally as a platoon.

A single fireteam was instructed to remain with the vehicles whilst the remainder of the almost fifty-strong platoon would make their way across the road, donning some slash-resistant gloves in the process, to the damaged lean-to. With the males permission the troops would begin a clear up process under the careful guidance of the homeowner and the Lieutenant. Larger materials including wood, corrugated tin and metals would be taken to the front garden where they're be piled up as neatly as possible for reuse in another project; whilst anything of any substantial risk such as broken glass, old nails or damaged foundation material would be removed to a separate pile, out the way of any public right of way. Working together the team would have the materials moved in very little time and they'd go on to pull away any rotting and crumbled exposed wooded framework to eventually carve out what was essentially a large concrete foundation pad, clear of any remanence of the former lean-to. Some hours had passed, but the house now looked almost completely different to its former self.

The Lieutenant shakes the male's hand, impressed by his teams efforts but also in an attempt to bridge the divide between Sweden and South Africa.... or what was left of a divide.

Throughout this process the fireteam securing the vehicles would remain in a relaxed position throughout however naturally their military training continued to run behind the mask of playful, welcoming military personnel that the public would've seen. Naturally there'd be no risk to the vehicles and the team would later mount up and continue their journey - this time to the important location of Upington - the closest point the personnel will be to the Namibian border.

Whilst this was ongoing the team at Air Force Base Ysterplaat would begin welcoming the Israeli Defence Force who were a welcome sight to the Swedish personnel eager to begin some interesting work on the base. As expected, the presence of the internationally renown red cross caused an overwhelming excitement amongst those lining the perimeter fencing as they began to understand what was being prepared in the base. Israeli forces were instructed to move their medical kit into the pre-prepared former barracks where a make-shift hospital had been laid out. Within hear clearly designated storage rooms had been prepared, with the windows blocked out to prevent theft. The medical program would be run entirely by the Israeli Defence Force who, with the use of the Military Police, will be responsible for the safe distribution of civilians inside the base, in waiting rooms and seeing doctors and nurses within the 'hospital'. Their mandate was clear - free healthcare for minor treatment, referrals to hospital for those in need of long-term treatment, and free immunisation and vaccinations to those in need, especially children. A number of photographs would be taken of the base.

A simulate mandate was sent to the Royal Thai Armed Forces who were asked to remain in contact with the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters until an assistance team would be dispatched to support efforts at their location. The advice was to prepare a field hospital within a hangar or disused barracks similar to that produced in Air Force Base Ysterplaat where the procedures can be conducted in a sterile, private and safe environment.

|At the Royal Thai Armed Force Headquarters|9.23 PM|38 minutes after Pretoria Military Base Invasion|

A simulated mandate that was sent from Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters would arrive by 9.23 PM, Thailand time. An Operational reporter would go into Surayud Chulanont's office, and the simulated mandate will also be sent to other people in Headquarters. General Surayud Chulanont would order the communication unit to send a message to Major General Therdchai Chaisurivirat Humanitarian aid force.
General Surayud Chulanon will go attend Army meetings to discuss current security.

|Pretoria Military Base Invasione|8.45 PM-11.37 PM|

The plan in this invasion will follow the plan that was drafted at Royal Thai Armed Force Headquarters.
5nzsoNB.png

Colonel Wasi Sarit would lead 200 men to A Point. The other officers would lead 70 men to B Point. The other officers would lead 129 men to AP-2 Point.

A Point side:
Colonel Wasi Sarit would lead 200 men searching building by building through the way to A Point side carefully to ensure that no one is hiding in the facility. After Colonel Wasi Sarit and his men have searched every building before A Point building, he would prepare to raid. Communication is communication through word and radio. "Colonel, we have to surround the left and right building. Please give us an order." When everyone is ready for a raid, colonel Colonel Wasi orders an attack and soldiers would rush into the building rapidly. The soldier rushes into the building with their Tactical lights on and flashes the Tactical lights in the building, and makes the building shine from inside. "This is Left building, no one here." An officer would speak through radio to Colonel Wasi Sarit. "No one is here at the Right building either. Let's move on."

A>C Point Side:
While Colonel Wasi Sarit is leading his men to search the building to C Point side, he and his men would find 27 people who got distracted by flashing lights at A Point building, the colonel and his men would take with local, and find out they are working at Wonderboom airport. Locals said that they hear a loud sound like an airplane sound, so they come out from the building and saw the military was raiding. Colonel Wasi Sarit would address that he come in peace, is working with Swedish Army to help South African people. The locals will be surprised and feel comfortable because they are supporting Sweden. The locals also tell that everyone in Airport is here, so there is no one left, but they don't sure about the military base.

C Point side:
Major Thiranai Kanjanapas just finished raiding the C Point building before Colonel Wasi Sarit would come with the local and say. "Hey, Thiranai Kanjanapas, I got some good news. We don't need to search the airport seriously anymore because we found everyone who is in the airport when we arrived" After Major Thiranai Kanjanapas know about it, he would speak through radio to a team that is searching AP-1, and AP-2 Point. "This is Major Thiranai Kanjanapas, and there is no need to search the airport anymore because we found everyone here."

AP-1/2 Point side:
The soldier would hear the sound of Major Thiranai Kanjanapas, and Captain Kittipon Chaiyawan would answer. "honestly, there is just 5 room left to check, we wouldn't mind to search all of it" Officer Kittipon Chaiyawan replies with a calm voice. Captain Kittipon Chaiyawan and his men would search rooms and find no one inside which confirm that the local is speaking the truth, while other is coming to the airport. The radio would also be sent to Captain Napan Tomson who is searching the B Point building.

B Point side:
Captain Napan Tomson is encountering an armed man which has a Vektor SP1 pistol aiming at a soldier. "Drop your weapon! Civilian! We do come in peace!" One of the soldiers shouts. "If you come in peace. Who are you? And why are you aiming at me? Why do you wear a full soldier suit like the war is still happening in South Africa? Why did you throw a stun grenade inside here since the first place?" An armed man asking with a panicked voice. "Okay, okay. First, we are the Royal Thai Armed Force soldier, we are working with Sweden in a humanitarian effort in South Africa. The reason that we are aiming at you is that you are ready to shoot us right now, please drop your weapon. We are here to secure the Military base, and we will set it up into a field hospital. We hear a gun sound in here, so we assume they are a threat in here, we are sorry." Captain Napan Tomson and the armed men start to drop his weapon and are sorry about aiming a gun at the soldier. They would share information and look like he and the soldier are getting along very well. Captain Napan Tomson would receive a voice message from the radio and acknowledge the situation.

Now the Airbase is secure, and all of Colonel Wasi Sarit's men are together now. They are going to support Major General Therdchai Chaisurivirat. They found 28 South African and no one is hurt. 1 stun grenade is used.

Military base side:
There are still people working in Pretoria military base, the Reconnaissance unit estimate that there are 70 inside the military base, but no one has a weapon with them. 2 guards are patrolling the gate, and Major General Therdchai Chaisurivirat needs to make a decision. "Do you think, if I just ask the guard directly? Will, he let us in?" Major General more Therdchai Chaisurivirat "We have 399 soldiers here, and I believe they can't do anything o us even they count people inside." One of the soldiers suggest. Therdchai Chaisurivirat decides to ask the guard directly for support since the plan is broken because there is a clear sign that people are still working at the military base. He and his men would approach the guards, and it make them panic. Therdchai Chaisurivirat would tell the information of who he is and why he is here to the guard. Luckily, look like everyone in the Military base is supporting Sweden, so it is very easy to get inside. Therdchai Chaisurivirat and his men would go explore inside the military base, before Colonel Wasi Sarit men and his men would come and report a message sent from Royal Thai Army headquarter. Major General Therdchai Chaisurivirat and his men including 98 South Africa. A tent would be set up and soldiers, 98 South African would help to unload supplies from airplane cargo and would clean hangars and set up a field hospital until the morning. The combat medic would go to rest at midnight to ensure they can threaten injured people the next morning. All the information will be sent back to Royal Thai Armed Force Headquarter and will be forward to Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters.

At Air Force Base Ysterplaat, the Israel Defense Force had finally completed preparations to welcome the local population to the makeshift hospital which had been set up beforehand. The supporting military police officers were equipped with their bulletproof vests and carried a sidearm which was a Glock 17 but also a handful of officers carried an M4 Carbine. The role of the military police officers were to make sure that nobody came onsite with any dangerous articles to harm Swedish and Israeli forces, they also completed random spot checks and asked anyone attending the Air Force Base to bring identification so that they could be listed by the hospital, if no identification was brought then a picture would be taken and kept for Swedish and Israeli Intelligence Services.

The Rebecca Sieff Hospital Military Unit was split into various different roles, such as doctors, nurses, dentists & paramedics whom would all come together as a unit to allow the swift delivery of medical aid and transferred those classed as serious risk to other hospitals across Cape Town whilst the delivery of immunisation and vaccinations was swiftly underway whilst doctors also tended to those with minor injuries. Through the day, over seven hundred and fifty vaccines had been delivered to those deeply in need which was a wonderful start to the vaccination program delivered by the Israel Defense Forces.

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit would also use local sources to relay information to the Jewish South African community, specifically the twelve thousand Jews living in Cape Town and distribute small aid packages with food rations, medicines and information regarding possible immigration to the State of Israel through the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and the Jewish Agency.

1st Long Range Reconnaissance Battalion side| 1 PM|

Major General Therdchai Chaisurivirat is talking with Captain Kittipon Chaiyawan. "So, are you ready to Reconnaissance the city?" Therdchai Chaisurivirat asked. "Yes, we are ready. You know, we have been preparing since 2 hours ago, and I think this job will be easy. Did you know that there are 1 million people in Pretoria? local has told me, I didn't believe it at first! Do you think there is any city in Thailand that has a population of over 1 million without counting our capital? The answer is no." Kittipon Chaiyawan replied. "South Africa is interesting. I start to love black women here, if I were younger, I would find some wife here, but I have one now. Can you tell me about your Reconnaissance plan?" Therdchai Chaisurivirat asked. "The plan is easy, but I planned it to be complex at first. We will split into 7 squads, and will Reconnaissance the city from north to south. We are currently at the northeast of the city, so we will Reconnaissance around the Wonderboom Airport first. and then we will keep expanding the Reconnaissance area little by little until we will explore the whole city. We only have 70 here, and it might take some time. I must tell you that, we will not come back until we have explored the whole city. I need to borrow 7 of your signal unit. Is it acceptable?" Kittipon Chaiyawan said. "The plan is really easy. I think we have nothing to worry about since people here support Sweden. Yes, you can take the signal unit. Communication is a key for your task." Therdchai Chaisurivirat replied. They will talk for a while after they finish, 77 personnel would start exploring the city to help civilians and mapping the city.

Welcome to Upington. Signs begin to line the highway as the convoy roar closer and closer to Upington, their arrival was of no surprise to those in the town given their consistent route down the highway had only one obvious destination and upon arrival, as they'd received on every occasion, people line the streets in amazement to see military vehicles enter town limits. A cloud of dust clearly and obviously follow the convoy as their huge military-grade tyres rip up the dry dirt from the roadway and discard it behind them as a result of the friction with the roads surface. Similar to their first town-scape their focus was immediately diverted to the longevity of the vehicles thus the identification of Nkomazi Fuel Upington came as a holy grail as the needle in their cabs slowly began to dwindle down to the red-coloured bar indicating low fuel. As per the last few occasions they'd refuelled whilst one fireteam remained responsible for cycling the vehicles through the fuel station, the remainder of the platoon were responsible for the security of the station, the vehicles and obviously the vulnerable personnel refuelling. However, just as they'd expected, the threat was minimal and they were once again met by local warehouse workers who had come out to get a good look at the advanced Swedish Army technology in amazement.

Upington was a large town, but where the platoon was currently positioned was literally one road away from the Namibian border, naturally prompting a conversation regarding immigration from either side. It was clear the general consensus was that local South Africans did not particularly notice or care for the arrival of Namibians across the open border and were unable to put a particular number on how many they would see come and go through the years but one thing was certain - the road to and from the border was often busy and that was clear during the Swedish Army's time in South Africa. This information was immediately passed to the Armed Forces Headquarters and ultimately onwards to the Department of Defence for analysis.

By this point it the sun began to set over the dusty horizon line, the troops were knackered from the hours of driving over the past day and the next step of the journey was not going to be easy. As the night time rolled in the civilians would slowly dwindle away as they returned home to their families or went back to finish the work they'd abandoned to meet the troops in the first place. It was not long before the platoon were left on their own once again, the line of Bushmasters appearing almost like a show room. The Lieutenant, once again, strolls his way out before the group of exhausted men, his arms crossed - the platoon would be dusted across the vehicles, some sat on the floor using the hard steel shell of the trucks as a back rest whilst others paces on foot, talking amongst themselves...

"Folks, listen up. Gather round, gather round. We're doing phenomenally well so far, the Department of Defence is impressed with our community liaison and we're looking to make a real impact in Mmabatho tomorrow morning. Do not let your guards down. I need each and every one of you on the ball tomorrow, Mmabatho was the epicentre of the resistance when we first set boots on this beautiful country and some of them will remain loyal to the apartheid regime. I do not want any accidents... fuck-ups. Right? There's some sort of political mess as a result of this operation and I don't want the DoD knocking on my door if it goes wrong. Get some rest. We'll be departing at the crack of dawn."

The pep-talk would largely go over deaf ears primarily as a result of becoming sterilised to the overwhelmingly positive welcome the platoon had received through their journey but also as a result of yet another rank slowly departing the role of a soldier destined to be a politician within the Department of Defence. A pen-pusher as they're affectionately known. Nonetheless the troops would get some rest, one again with the fireteam remaining awake at all times to ensure the safety of the platoon and they'd cycle throughout the night.

Gauteng Campaign

With the, up to now, great success of the Reconnaissance Battalion on their journey to Bophuthatswana territory, the decision was made to begin what was now dubbed the Gauteng Campaign. Previous mention had been made to deploy forces to support the Royal Thai Armed Forces at their position in Pretoria, specifically Air Force Base Waterkloof. Within moments the 1st Air Transport Squadron would have a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III prepared with the six necessary Bushmaster PMV's and space for the 9th Reconnaissance Platoon to make their journey across the country. The aircraft would of course be fully fuelled prior to departure and take the most direct route to Pretoria.

The successful deployment of the Citizen Focus Program by the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the Israeli Defence Force was duly noted and the Armed Forces Headquarters. The reconnaissance effort for the Thai was also noted and a request would be made to establish an opinion poll for the presence of coalition forces in South Africa.

TOP SECRET
Bophuthatswana Campaign
June 1999

Whilst the platoon had taken the Lieutenants speech with a pinch of salt the atmosphere in the convoy was certainly different as each of the troops took the time to contemplate exactly what was going on in their lives. This operation was the first time Swedish forces had set foot on foreign soil for decades and despite the nations strong neutrality status throughout this administrations tenure the tension in the political arena were heating up, and the troops knew it. The long drives gave ample time for the personnel to consider their own position in this operation and on occasion those opinions would spill out of their mouths and prompt a debate within the cab - one thing was for certain though, for as long as the blue and yellow flag lay emblazoned on their sleeve, they would stay true to the king they swore to serve; it was only natural for opinions to differ given every man had his own political and religious beliefs as well as their own family history. Similar to that of the international community the opinions varied drastically. However, true to the sense of freedom of speech nobody had the nerve to persuade another that their opinion was invalid or wrong... if only the United States of America or South Africa could follow suit as, afterall, the Swedish Armed Forces have the support of the people and the government.

The Department of Defence in conjunction with the Department of Foreign Affairs were beginning to take a different angle on the Global Assembly Emergency Resolution and plans were being written up as the days went by, which is why the true start of the Bophuthatswana Campaign that was beginning to dawn was at the very forefront of every chiefs mind. It had to be a success. It was important to dwell on the definition of success and what it meant to succeed in this campaign.

As some backstory: Bophuthatswana was the hub of Swedish resistance, beginning when then President Lucas Mangope refused to relinquish power to a centralised South African government and instead ordered men to take up arms. There was no confusion, this was certainly the minority, the regional powers of Ciskei, Venda and Transkei had already sided with the Swedish occupation, as had their constituents. With the use of a civilian force, the Bophuthatswana Police, President Lucas Mangope had already ordered their resistance and for a short period roadblocks were set up to barricade Swedish forces from moving into the region. The resistance was short-lived however, as in a short period of time the force had began to turn against their own President who had sought refuge at the Presidential Palace behind a series of armed bodyguards. A firefight ensued but President Lucas Mangope was later caught and arrested by the South African Police for the abuse of his constitutional power. This was prior to Sweden even planning the Bophuthatswana Campaign.

Plans had since developed and the troops, by this stage running tired of being in the back of a Bushmaster for hours upon hours, were hurtling towards the Mmabatho city limits. The capital of Bophuthatswana. A radio transmission is broadcast across the convoy for personnel to be in a state of readiness. In the distance a huge line of silhouettes were visible blocking the road outside the civic centre, they weren't moving but from the exterior chanting could be heard bouncing off the buildings either side of the convoy. Above them, members of the community hang from their windows chanting, screaming, shouting but exactly what they were saying could not be heard. In an attempt to ensure the safety of the convoy the vehicles stagger themselves in a herringbone formation, should any decisive action need to be taken. As they approached it was clear the silhouettes were a huge crowd with a banner outstretched across the road...

"BOPHUTHATSWANA - WELKOM BY ONS HUIS, SWEDE" big black text read in Afrikaans. The lead vehicle driver looked quickly to his passenger in confusion "What the fuck does that say?!" he questions, obviously unable to speak Afrikaans and utterly confused as to whether the unprecedented display was one of aggression. The driver began to slow and vehicles would peel off every 100m to line the pavement. On the instruction of the Lieutenant the personnel would exit their vehicles in an extreme sense of caution outfit in their full personal protective equipment and firearms in a live capacity. They were ready. Just incase.

BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG. "INCOMING!" is screamed by one of the anxious troops prompting the platoon to dart to the walls of the buildings lining the street and on doing so they quickly begin to crouch in a tight formation, darting their rifles into the direction they thought the bangs were coming from. On turning around the Lieutenant was able to see exactly what the situation was...

Gauteng Campaign
June 1999

Meanwhile the personnel deployed to assist the Royal Thai Armed Forces would make their arrival into the air force base very clear. the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III marked clearly with "SWEDISH ROYAL AIR FORCE" in black text across the fuselage would hurtle down the runway until the reverse thrusters and brakes were able to bring the aircraft to a taxi speed. It would make its way off the runway and onto the apron where eventually the loadmaster would have the capacity to lower the ramp and allow the Bushmaster PMV's to exit the aircraft. Naturally the Swedish Armed Forces would clear and take up refuge in one of the abandoned hangars on the base, making it the central operations point for the campaign. Here they would begin to store the vehicles within and make space for storage of essentials that were due to be brought by logistical units in the near future.

Within a few hours of departing the aircraft the personnel would seek to find and identify members of the Thai deployment, primarily to socialise with another force. After all, they were going to be working together, so being able to speak in an informal setting was just as important as the usual military-jargon uttered during active missions.

The Lieutenant of the platoon would ask around and seek to find the leadership of the Thai deployment to establish a situation report.

Over the past few days, the personnel of the Rebecca Sieff Hospital Military Unit had been hard at work with delivering the vaccination and immunisation program for the people of Cape Town. They had also tendered to the needs of local civilians through the means of referring medium and high risk cases to local hospitals which further care could be administered. The Rebecca Sieff Hospital Military Unit would also begin preparations to set up a makeshift trauma centre with eight beds dubbed 'Ysterplaat Major Trauma Centre' which was to be used for coalition forces should they receive major trauma such as explosions, stabbings and shootings. A team of doctors and nurses had been rotated to focus their efforts on dealing with major trauma incidents and details of the Israeli trauma centre would be passed through an encrypted channels to Swedish and Thai forces.

The 645th "Ta'oz" Military Police Battalion had managed to detain one individual for carrying an offensive weapon, namely a M1911 pistol by a local seventeen year old who was in attendance to the hospital set up for the Citizen Focus Program with his family. The Military Police Battalion remained on high alert as they continued to search everyone and identify those using the hospital facilities set up to help the local population.

TOP SECRET
Bophuthatswana Campaign
June 1999

Confetti rains from the rooftops of buildings supporting the convoy, the bangs soon identified as confetti canons and the locals begin to laugh hysterically as the multi-coloured paper falls down on top of their parked Bushmaster PMVs. The huge banner soon began to make sense as they analysed the Afrikaans they could naturally make out the words 'welcome' and 'Sweden' but the apparently jumbled selection of letters in the middle still remained a mystery. It took a few moments for the personnel to begin to relax themselves following the rapid succession of bangs which they immediately identified as what they believed were gunshots of small explosives from a distance; their weapons were soon lowered and they slowly rose from their prone position as the crowd erupted in applause. The Lieutenant began a rapid and dynamic risk assessment in the position they were currently in, it was clear that they were becoming swarmed in their current location which naturally drew increased risk should a hostile agent be present. Bophuthatswana, once the stronghold of a resistance against the Swedish presence in South Africa, appears to have a strong delegation of support - at least at the moment. The team however were not blind to the fact that opposing factions were still bound to be present somewhere and their defensive measures would not slip throughout their time there.

The platoon began to tactically relocate to their vehicles which remains as a place as safety. The crows quickly engulfed the windows and doors as they reached out to meet the soldiers within the vehicles and attempt to provide gifts, thanks and support. Across the encrypted radio the Lieutenant orders the regrouping of the vehicles in the centre of the roadway, the convoy would roll at a slow rate of speed to ensure the safety of those surrounding the vehicle. At the head of the platoon the Lieutenants vehicle rolls slowly as a guidance towards the Mmabatho Civic Centre - within the vehicle the driver is assisted by a map reader allowing for the safe navigation of the convoy towards the location.

It was a short drive but infinitely more safe. Following the journey the convoy is parked in a close-formed line outside the civic centre and once again the personnel disembark. One squad moves into defensive positions split at either side of the entrance to the civic centre keeping an oversight on the crowd and acting in a capacity in-which they could identify hostile actors. Meanwhile the two remaining squads stand outside speaking with locals and gaining a general consensus of the situation in Mmabatho, and how the former aggressive factions in the region had been driven out or whether they were still present in the city and much more the county as a whole.

Once the situation had somewhat kerbed and become more like the continued support personnel were receiving at Air Force Base Ysterplaat. Within the civic centre the Lieutenant sought legislative leaders as well as regional governors to discuss the situation locally. Focus of conversation was mainly around the law enforcement and military defence of the region so close to an internationally recognised border - as well as to establish what remains of the apartheid government formally in place following the collapse of Lucas Mangope's office and the death of State President P.W Botha.

Gauteng Campaign

All information would be collated and sent immediately to the Department of Defence. The huge success of personnel would not go unnoticed as this marked the point-in-time whereby the department forward all relevant information onwards to the Executive Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the Governor-General of South Africa. A statement was due to be made imminently given the extreme confusion world-wide regarding Sweden's position in South Africa and the continued amount of lies spilled into global politics. Thailand was becoming one of Sweden's closest allies with their continued support of Operation Pyrite and their assistance in the diplomatic arena - one thing was for certain and that was the administration's plan for continued work between the two nations in a variety of different capacities.

Operation Pyrite was proving to be a huge success. For the first time in history one country from a number of different continents were cooperating to make a real difference in Africa.

Tactical Relocation (OP/6/TR/99)

Tension was increasing worldwide and the decision was made by the Strategic Defence Network to begin the structuring of remaining assets, including currently unstructured MIM-104C "PAC-2" Patriot missile systems, AN/FPS-77/177 radar systems and Spaningsradar 870 coastal surveillance radars which will join the already established global network. This equipment will soon form the South African Air Defence Company, providing long-range and ballistic missile air defence, and the South African Maritime Defence Company, providing coastal surveillance.

It has been several months since the Royal Thai Armed Force deployed 798 Humanitarian Aid Force in South Africa, and they have been serving more than 3,000 people a day. The Reconnaissance unit had finished exploring the city. The Humanitarian aid force had provided more than 1,300 tons of food to the people of South Africa. The Humanitarian aid force had given South African more than 540,000 gallons of water.

The Royal Thai Armed Force decided to call back all of the Humanitarian aid force to go back to Thailand. They will replace the Humanitarian aid force with new 1,596 personnel. With this number, the Humanitarian Aid Force can help people more. At midnight, Major General Therdchai Chaisurivirat received a message regarding calling back the personnel to Thailand. In the morning, he decided to talk with the local administration. He will leave the supply here in the Pretoria Airbase. The Humanitarian Aid Force will be gone for 3 - 5 days. It is up to the local administration if they can manage the supply.

The personnel is now aware of the message from last night. They are happy. It had been about four months that they hadn't seen their family. They make a massive billboard telling them that they will come back soon. The personnel would collect their things. They are preparing themselves to go back to their homeland. The Chuan regime sent them here, and they will come back to the Thaksin regime. It would take them around two hours before they finished. At 0900, they would get in the McDonnell Douglas DC-30. 399 each. The Royal Thai Armed Force headquarters would send a message regarding the recall back of the personnel and replace with the double amount to Swedish Army Headquarters. The Royal Thai Armed Force headquarters also sent the information to Israel Armed Force.

Both McDonnell Douglas DC-30 would take KG>LG>LH>LI>MI>MJ>NJ>NK>OK route to go back to Don Muang Airport. It would take around 11 hours to reach Don Muang Airport. When the airplanes arrive at the Airport, the Humanitarian aid forces family are waiting there. The Airport terminal is full of parents, family, people, and reporters waiting for the personnel. The reporter team broadcast moment of the Humanitarian aid force getting out of both airplanes to the public. The soldiers are still in their uniforms carrying weapons and equipment. They cried when their loved ones came to welcome and hug them.

At the same time, Hyundai Aero City is transporting the new humanitarian aid force to Don Muang Airport. Unfortunately for the Thai Armed Force, they can only transport 798 personnel to South Africa at a time. Which means they will be two waves of transportation. The first waves are ongoing. They will arrive at Don Muang airport in 4 hours.

The timeline of transportation would take around 3 - 4 days. The first 798 personnel will take off at midnight. The second 798 personnel will take off three days later at 0900. The ground crew would make sure that airplanes had refueled before takeoff. When the plane finished transporting the Humanitarian aid force to South Africa, they will transport supplies that can support 7,000 people a week. Although the last government got dismissed because of supplying South African, the current government decided to buy the goods from the market around the country that is leftovers. It can also improve the local economy.

Both McDonnell Douglas DC-30 will use these routes to transport.
OK>NK>NJ>MJ>MI>LI>LH>LG>KG for Pretoria
KG>LG>LH>LI>MI>MJ>NJ>NK>OK For Bangkok
After they finish the transportation, they will transport the supply every three days.
