Thaksin Shinawatra As the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Thailand and a devoted friend of the Kingdom of Sweden, I cannot agree more with Swedish Secretary of Antarctic Affairs Ida Engström that Antarctica has been part of Sweden for many years and is recognized by a resolution of the Global Assembly. Sweden has proven to the international community times and again that it is a humanitarian and stabilizing force of positive change worldwide, and there can be no better administrator of Antarctica than Sweden. @ThaksinLive
Republic Thai Navy
We are proud to officially announce that the Republic Navy has introduced its first FREMM Multipurpose Frigate to the Red Service. Holding the namesake of Paul Lafargue, her commission into the Republic Navy is another step toward the modernization of the Republic Armed Forces. We extend our official gratitude to the technicians and specialists from the Empire of French who have been delicately transferring such a sophisticated military hardware design to be manufactured by our local shipbuilding cooperatives. @RepublicNavy
Stephen Dziedzic Sources close to me in DFAT have confirmed that Australia and Thailand will engage in the coming days in their first official diplomatic engagement in well over 2 years and the first face-to-face talks between the two governments since December 2003. They are still keeping tight lipped on the nature of the diplomatic engagement and who will be involved. @stephendziedzic
SAAB AB With immediate effect the acquisition of any SAAB product is prohibited. This includes any form of production, sale, donation, distribution or transference. We have previously made a statement in relation to this and will be seeking legal advice on any breaches. @saab
Department of Defence Whilst we remain opposed to the so-called 'STOP' legislation. It is no secret that Sweden has been in possession of chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction for many years - the details of which will and should remain classified, despite international attempts to strong-arm domestic law. @swe_dod
International Court of Justice PRESS RELEASE: The Court has published an Advisory Opinion relating to the right of passage through the Suez Canal for vessels of the Republic of Thailand. ICJ/AO/0002 @ICJ
MFA Thailand The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand welcomes the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice affirming Thailand’s legal right to navigate the Suez Canal under international law. This opinion underscores the principles of freedom of transit and sovereign equality, irrespective of Egypt's non-recognition of Thailand. We view this as a reaffirmation of Thailand's rights under customary international law and the 1888 Convention of Constantinople. Thailand remains committed to peaceful, law-abiding international navigation. @MFAThailand
Stephen Dziedzic Meetings have concluded in Canberra between Don Farrell, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Joe Ludwig, the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and Thai representative Pitsuwan Surin. According to a press release, Australia has signed off on two agriculture agreements and one cultural agreement with Thailand, the first bilateral agreements signed off between the two nations in more than a decade. One of those agricultural agreements apparently focuses heavily on cooperating in the Red Meat and Cattle Sector. @stephendziedzic
Global Assembly It is with great sadness that the Global Assembly announces the death of Secretary-General Clark Stone. The Assembly is set to be convoked to discuss the election of the principal positions within the Global Assembly. @GA
Republic Government In light of the deeply regrettable passing of Mr. Clark Stone, the former Secretary-General of the Global Assembly, whose tireless efforts have significantly contributed to global peace, stability, security, and prosperity, the National Assembly of Thailand has granted the Republic Government authorization to observe a period of mourning. During this time, the national flag will be flown at half-mast across all official buildings as a mark of respect and remembrance. @ThaiGov
Xavier Holm It is with a very heavy heart that we hear the news of the passing of Global Assembly Secretary-General Clark Stone. Sweden has partaken in 16 dispensed resolutions within the Global Assembly since 1995, all of which during Secretary-General Stone's tenure. A man committed to the wellbeing of the world. A true and pure heart. May he rest in peace. @swe_dfa_gaamb

Ministère de l'Europe et des Affaires étrangères The Empire of France is pleased to see the law prevail in the case of the Socialist Republic of Thailand v. the Sultanate of Egypt and the Sudan before the ICJ. Furthermore, we must strongly object to the Russian response to this advisory opinion. Russia's response appears based on a fundamental misunderstanding of concepts such as innocent passage and the fabric of current international law. The ICJ ruled fairly and in line with customary international law and existing treaties. Whether or not Thailand was an original signatory does not change that the Constantinople Convention applies to all nations, member or not. "The Suez Maritime Canal shall always be free and of commerce or of war, without distinction of flag." And even if Thailand were a so-called belligerent party, which we contest and has not been established by any applicable Court or institution, under article 4 it would still be free to pass as long as its goals are not to use the Canal for aggressive actions. Every party got to make their cases, the judges ruled impartially and the chapter is now closed. All responsible members of the global community must now live with and obey its conclusions. @MEAE_EN
Global Assembly The Journal of the Global Assembly has officially launched with the publication of its first issue! Read it here under symbol S/2005/001 @GA
