I am working closely with Parish and local officials throughout the state, especially in Orleans Parish, Baton Rouge, and Morgan City to begin orderly evacuations where necessary. I will be speaking with President Sinclair this afternoon, and I will request Federal assistance as we brace for Hurricane Katrina.

Australian Consulate-General, Houston DFAT has advised that Australian citizens in Louisiana and Mississippi immediately tune into local radio and television and to listen to all warnings and advice from state and local authorities in those states in regards to Hurricane Katrina and to comply with all evacuation orders that may be issued. @ausintexas
