The masculine voice came over the radio was one of tired discipline. The flight controller on the other end was probably nearing the end of his shift and was ready to hit the rack. Once landed the occupants of the An-26 would wait nearly half an hour before an officer would arrive on the scene and queue the radio to begin communications. "Karavan One Zero Seven, this is Polkownik Wisniewska. Your detachment is authorized to disembark the aircraft. We have secured transportation to a set of barracks set aside for your forces to utilize. Over."

The United States Department of State would first inform the Russian Government that they were requesting clearance to fly U.S. Special Forces and equipment over Russian airspace from Alaska, over Ukraine, and into Poland at the designated airbase which was the rendezvous point for the operation. If the Russians approved, the Americans would go forward with the operation. American special forces would include a Delta Force unit, three helicopters, and the best pilots in the Army. There would of course be room for Russian and Polish special forces, as well as VIPs that would potentially be picked up in Ukraine.

The request would reach the Ministry of Defence. Minister Igor Sergeyev would grant the Americans access to go through Russian air space. However, the following cities would be off-limits: Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Novorossiysk, and Moscow. Furthermore, all of Crimea would be off-limits. If American aircraft were detected within this airspace the Russian Air Force would have no choice but to escort the aircraft out of Russian airspace. The Americans would be notified that a Russian Spetsnaz unit was already at the meeting point.

Fearing that the radio silence meant the worse for the Ukrainian government, the Ministry of Defense gave the go-ahead for the Russian Spetsnaz to begin their plans. From the Kursk-Vostochniy Air Base, the 25 Mil Mi-8T transport helicopters would be boarded each by 23 Spetsnaz and 15 helicopter crew members. They would all be fully armed, equipped and fueled before departing from the air base and into Ukrainian airspace following KN > KO. The 1st Helicopter Flight would head for the Ministry of Defense Building, the 2nd Helicopter Flight to evacuate Leonid Kuchma, the 3rd to protect President Yushchenko at Oleksandrivska Hospital, and the 4th to Maidan.

They would all arrive roughly 2 hours from their departure time.

To Lviv

Now located at the 23rd Air Base in Poland, the Antonov An-26 of the 22nd Special Forces Brigade would refuel and the 30 Spetsnaz paratroopers would be fully-armed and equipped before they boarded the plane alongside its 5 crew members. The plane would depart from the air base and begin flying towards Lviv where it would aim for a field at 49.840634, 24.035695 for the Spetsnaz to paratroop. It would then return to its original departure location in Crimea. Following KO > KN, it would reach its paradrop location within an hour.

With the operation fully underway, Vadim Bakatin would use an encrypted line to hopefully contact his friend Volodymyr.

U.S Special Forces would arrive in Poland without incident and secretly. The Delta Force unit was fully prepared for the joint operation between the United States, Russia, Poland, and Ukranian loyalist forces. The commander of the Delta Force unit would immediately try to organize his colleagues from other countries so that they could deploy to Ukraine as soon as possible. The mission would primarily involve securing a Ukranian VIP, protecting the legitimate President, and ensuring that the remaining legitimate ministers of the Ukranian government survived. The Americans would wait for the Polish and Russians to join them so that they could deploy together.

In the late hours of the morning, the 5 Mil Mi-8T transport helicopters would arrive over Kyiv and would make their way to the building of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. Knowing that speed was of the essence, the helicopters would quickly drop over the building at roughly 75 feet off the ground. At the same time, the Spetsnaz within would open the side doors of the helicopters and drop some repelling ropes. Once each of the 23 Spetsnaz had repelled from their helicopters, they would equip their weapons and gear and breach into the Ministry. The western team would enter the building in the courtyard prior to the shooting gallery, the western courtyard team would enter the west-end of the building via its western entrance and the eastern courtyard team would enter the main building. The two teams that had repelled into the front yard would breach the front doors together. Once the teams were inside, the 5 Mil Mi-8T helicopters would depart and make their way back into Russian airspace.

Verkhovna Rada, Kyiv

As the Spetsnaz were assaulting the Ministry of Defense, 5 other Mil Mi-8T transport helicopters arrived at the Verkhovna Rada in Kyiv. As the previous team, the helicopters were hover roughly 75 feet above the ground and the Spetsnaz teams would repel. Two teams would drop at the front entrance of the building, one would land on the street near the side entrance, one would land in the courtyard and near the rear entrance, and the last would land on the roof. Once they had all of their firearms and equipment, the teams would breach the building. The ground teams would breach the nearest entrances to them and move quickly to the main chamber of the building. At the same time, the team on the roof would secure the skylight and break the glass to secure the building's main room.

Any hostile forces would be met with immediate deadly force. The tactic used by the Spetsnaz was that of performing their mission with such speed and force that it would overwhelm the ultranationalist terrorists.

Oleksandrivska Hospital, Kyiv

5 more Mil Mi-8T helicopters would arrive in the area of the Oleksandrivska Hospital and would quickly hover to roughly 75 feet before the Spetsnaz teams would repel. 3 teams would drop at the front of the hospital and 2 would drop behind. While one team entered the hospital to guard President Yushchenko directly, four other teams would set up perimeters around the hospital in anticipation for potential assaults by ultranationalists or other terrorists. The team of 23 Spetsnaz would rush to the Presidents room, assure that he was still alive. If this was the case, five Spetsnaz members would remain by his side while the other 18 Spetsnaz would begin sweeping the hospital, clearing rooms, and assuring that no one seemed out of place or potentially armed. If they believed someone was of danger they would detain them with zip-ties.

Maidan, Kyiv

Of the last helicopters sent to the Ukrainian capital, 5 Mil Mi-8T transport helicopters would arrive near Maidan square. Upon their arrival they would hover only roughly 15-20 feet above the rooftops that they flew over. The FSS had informed them that their mission was to locate terrorist sniper teams before things went awry. Each of the helicopters would be divided into one search location of several blocks and buildings. As the helicopters flew by, the side doors of the helicopters would be swung open - all the Spetsnaz would be tied aboard the helicopters. On one side door would be located a Spetsnaz sniper to counter snipers and on the other would be a Spetsnaz armed with a machine gun if things went south. While the helicopters would not be able to stay hovering over the square forever, it was the hopes of the FSS that they would be able to remain in the sky long enough to locate all of these sniper teams.

Lviv

The Antonov An-26 would fly directly above the Ukrainian city of Lviv. Aiming for a somewhat open field for the 30 Spetsnaz to paradrop onto, the men would dive out of the plane and slowly and skillfully land on the Field of Mars in the heart of Lviv. As they did, the Antonov An-26 would continue on its path to Sevastopol where it would eventually land at its airport and refuel.

Once all of the Spetsnaz were on the ground, they would equip their weapons and gear before attempting their best to remain out of sight while moving through the city. They stuck to the woodlands, moving through the buildings until they eventually had no choice but to run through the urban streets and make their way to the Ukrainian News Agency building. Assuring that they did not have their firearms in-hand they would signal whomever was leading the hostage rescue negotiations. As per the FSS assured, the team lead of the Spetsnaz was able to communicate with them in Ukrainian. "As per the request of the Ukrainian government, we have been sent to aid with this hostage situation."

The Polish Special Forces were on standby as the Americans and Russians landed and began setting up on the base. A combination of JW GROM and JW Kommandosow were assigned to assist in the incursion to assist the legitimate government of Ukraine to reestablish control and end the coup attempt by upper members of the Ukrainian government. As the Delta Force commander attempted to rally the Polish and Russian forces to set off, he would find the Polish Forces were already in full kit and ready to go. They had been brief hours prior by their commanding officer. They were wearing their Pantera camouflage pattern uniform but all Polish insignias had been removed from all articles of clothing and equipment. Their HK416s had been cleaned and inspected, night vision goggles had been inspected and spare batteries acquired. Optics for the rifles were cleaned, batteries changed, and spare batteries pocketed. The only thing disheveled about them was the various stages of beard growth each member wore. The commanders of the JW GROM and Commandosow would greet their American and Russian counterparts in English and Russian respectively.

The overwatch team spotted movement of the Russian Spetznaz moving on their position and keyed their mic three times to notify the other three teams that a third party was approaching. There were no police on site, only the Polish Special Forces and the opposition force inside the building. The twelve man team split into two groups, the first six remaining on overwatch as the other six moved to interact with the approaching party.

Speaking Ukrainian the senior NCO looked over the unit approaching them and raised his hand showing his hand was not on a rifle. "Which Ukrainian Government sent you, friend?" He spoke in Ukrainian as he approached. Russians this close to Poland was not good and he had to identify if they were assisting Ukraine or hurting Ukraine.

Power to SSU HQ had been cut. As a result, any calls to the landlines would go unanswered for a period of time. However, with the building’s backup generators, the electricity would soon return. Hoping he wasn’t too late, Volodymyr Radchenko would use a private and encrypted cell phone to make a call to his Russian counterpart [ Alex ]. “I’m sorry, friend, they’re fucking with our electrical. The Park of Eternal Glory in Kyiv--our forces will meet there. In Lviv they can convey on the Field of Mars. Is this all acceptable?" As soon as possible, an encrypted email would be sent to the Russian forces detailing the structure and codenames for the Ukrainian forces they'd be working with.

The SSU would continue to go unaware of US [ Odinson ] and Polish [ ManBear ] intervention. President Yushchenko had fallen unconscious before he could inform any administrators--besides his now deceased Chief of Staff--that they would provide assisstance.


Park of Eternal Glory, Kyiv

Some men scanned the park perimeter while others kept their eyes on the sky as they awaited their Russian friends [ Alex ]. “Any second now, boys...” mumbled Svyatoslav Actual as he glanced at his wrist watch for the 12th time in two minutes.

Next to him, Vovkulaka 3, the most eager of the molodshi serzhanty (junior sergeants), was checking his gear one last time. He had expressed great interest in welcoming their guests to Ukraine. After all, the Russians had sponsored their training. He had even stashed a small gift in one of his pouches. Svyatoslav Actual agreed that he could be the first to greet them once they arrived.

Again, none of the SSU or spetsnaz fireteams would be aware of possible American and Polish intrest.

Ivan Fanko Park, Lviv

The Ukrainian spetsnaz, having suffered a great miscommunication, would not make it to the Field of Mars. Instead, they would conveine in Ivan Franko Park.

Fireteam Proshchannya would be sent ahead as the remaining fireteams attempted to make radio contact with their Russian friends [ Alex ].

Any intervention by the Americans [ Odinson ] or Pols [ ManBear ] was not something the Ukrainian spetsnaz would have imagined. They remained unaware.

The three Polish teams stacked up on the doors as their headsets keyed three times in rapid procession indicating there was a third party moving towards the area of operation. They responded with a single mic key to notify that they acknowledged the warning before finishing preparations to breach the building. Each of the three entrance doors would have a breaching charge placed on them and the activation controls primed, ready to detonate as soon as the go ahead came. A few minutes passed before the leader of Blue team keyed his mic twice indicating to proceed with the plan. Three second count and three explosions ripped the doors off their hinges, into the building before three smaller explosions happened inside of the building. Flashbangs had been tossed inside the building as soon as the doors were blown. As soon as the bright lights and loud banging of the flashbangs began the three teams proceeded into their respective entrances. Blue team entered from rear entrance. Red team entered through the side entrance. Green team entered into the main entrance. Anyone with a firearm would be shot until the threat was deemed over, prioritizing chest shots over head shots like their training. Once the target was on the ground, they would put two rounds into the targets head to insure they were dead.

After entering the building red team would throw a breach the door utilizing a breaching shotgun before throwing two flashbangs into the room. They would enter the room and attempt to eliminate any target that carried a weapon. Anyone without a weapon would be shouted at in Ukrainian and Russia to get on the ground.

Blue team would enter through the rear entrance and attempt to shoot anyone armed. Their priority was center mass shots with their HK 416s until the target dropped. Anytime one of them needed to reload, they would rotate to the rear of the unit and reload, allowing the next in front to engage targets effectively. They would move left down the hallway to wrap around the other side, careful to watch offices for movement or hostile activity.

Green team, entering through the main entrance would proceed to engage any hostiles nearby, repeating the same steps as the previous teams. Shooting center mass until the target dropped then follow up shots to the head. Most of the team would move to the hallway to begin securing it, while the remaining members would move to breach the security room utilizing the breaching shotgun before throwing more flashbangs into the room to further disorient the enemy.

Any Polish soldiers would not be immediately seen to by their teammates. They would engage the target until the threat was over before moving to provide first aid if required. Each member had been trained to provide immediate first aid to themselves until a medic could get to them.

As the Polish assaulted the news station, the Russians would be left in the street beyond confused. No plan had been given to them and when the gunshots began, the Russians would withdraw away from the building. They would not risk their lives entering such an assault with no know plan, the risk of being shot by the Polish by accident being too high, and even if they had they wanted nothing to do with a plan that involved simply gunning down those inside - the risk of hostage casualties being essentially a guarantee. Instead, they would demand an EVAC and would send an encrypted update back to their headquarters at the Kremlin.

Vadim would smile upon hearing his friend's voice. "It would be acceptable, Volodymyr. However, following the silence since our last call, the Tsarina and I believed it necessary to send in our special forces as we feared the ultranationalists might have gotten to you." He sighed. "Our forces are currently assaulting and taking control of the Ministry of Defense and the Rada. They have also begun fortifying Oleksandrivska Hospital and patrolling the Maidan from the air. You should inform your forces to meet them at these locations as quickly as possible. We have also sent a team to Lviv where they have come across the Polish forces there at the UNA building--" At this moment, a fax would come in, detailing the SITREP of the Spetsnaz in Lviv. Vadim would quickly read it over. "Um... I seem to have some somewhat bad news. It appears the Polish assaulted the news station without the aid of our forces and have decided to do so by shooting on sight. I'm sorry, but it is likely this hostage situation in Lviv has escalated for the worse. My forces have requested an EVAC and unless you wish them to do something regarding this, I will grant them this evacuation."

The Delta Force units located at the Polish airbase would be frustrated to know that the Russians, and some of the Polish, have already gone forward and deployed on a mission without the commanders from the three countries discussing what their joint-mission exactly was or how they were going to work together. Without doing this, the Americans felt that the teams were either going to run into some big problems or be exceptionally lucky. Instead of rolling the dice themselves, they decided to organize a meeting with the remaining Polish forces to decide what action needed to be taken. Meanwhile, the American soldiers and airmen made sure that their helicopters, weapons, and their compatriots were ready to go in the event that they were needed.
