I am writing to congratulate you on your election as the first President of the Sixth French Republic. I understand that the rise, and also the demise, of the recent imperial government is a destabilizing factor to your country. I recognize that the divide between royal ties and extremist leftist views are something that you will have to balance, but I want you to know that, as the first independent American President since George Washington, I can somewhat relate to your battle to moderate extremist factions. The French People have my sympathies and you, and the Republican Government, have my support. I wish you the best and I extend my warmest regards. I hope that our governments can exchange embassies and ambassadors soon.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude for your kind message of congratulations. It is my belief that your historical reflection highlights our shared democratic spirit and only strenghtens the bonds between our nations.

The transition from an empire to a republic has indeed presented the government with complex political realities. As the first elected President of the Sixth French Republic, I am burdened with the duty to balance the interests of the French people within the constitutional and democratic framework of our nation. Your words of solidarity and understanding are therefore deeply appreciated, and I hope I can count on your continued support in recognising the Sixth Republic on the global stage.

France values the historic friendship between our nations and I look forward to strengthening our fraternal bonds. I would therefore be honoured to exchange embassies and ambassadors. Quai d'Orsay has assured me that the US diplomatic mission on 2 Avenue Gabriel remains reserved for your use. Should you approve, I shall direct the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to re-establish the French diplomatic mission in Washington DC at 4101 Reservoir Rd.

Furthermore, I hope you will accept the letter of credence of Pierre Vimont to serve as French Ambassador to the United States.

While I understand that your schedule is demanding, I wish to extend an invitation to attend the 63rd Anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy on 6 June. It would be France’s great honour to receive you as we commemorate the extraordinary sacrifices made by American servicemen to liberate France and Europe. Should you accept, I shall direct my Secretary General to liaise with your Chief of Staff to coordinate the arrangements.

Once again, Mr. President, I thank you for your congratulations and look forward to fostering strong and enduring bilateral relations between our great nations.

Mister President,

I would be honored to attend the remembrance of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy in France, thank you for the invitation. I distinctly remember studying with my fellow classmates at West Point in 1944 when General Eisenhower's D-Day Speech was broadcast. The overwhelming feeling of patriotism I had for my country, which was already like a well-stocked furnace, became a raging bonfire in my heart after I heard that speech over the radio. I remember feeling with every fiber of my being that the United States was on the right side, and that we would join the French and British in Europe to overturn the evil tyranny that had befallen the continent. I did not graduate from West Point until after the war - I spent part of my life regretting that I did not find a way to make it to Europe and participate in that Great Crusade that General Eisenhower spoke of.

With that being said, I did have friends who were there, in person, who stormed the beaches of Normandy. I hope that you will permit me to bring them along for this remembrance, as all of Western Civilization owes them an unpayable debt.

I look forward to our offices preparing the visit, thank you again for the invitation.​

Dear Mr Baker,

President Valérian has directed me to reach out to your office to coordinate the visit of President Sinclair to the commemoration of the 63rd Anniversary of D-Day. We propose that the President arrives on the 5th of June and departs following the commemorations on the 6th of June. I have added a preliminary schedule for your review:

5th June – Arrival and Dinner

• Arrival of the President of the United States at Charles de Gaulle Airport.
• Official welcome and transfer to the Élysée Palace (helicopter to Héliport de Paris – Issy-les-Moulineaux; motorcade to Élysée Palace).
• Bilateral meeting between the President of the French Republic and the President of the United States.
• Dinner hosted by the President of the French Republic at the Élysée Palace.
• Overnight at the Élysée Palace.

6th June – Commemoration

• Departure from the Élysée Palace to Normandy (motorcade to Héliport de Paris – Issy-les-Moulineaux; helicopter to Caen – Carpiquet Airport; motorcade to Normandy American Cemetery).
• Participation in the commemorative ceremony at Omaha Beach.
• Address by the Presidents of France and the United States.
• Wreath-laying at the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer.
• Meeting with American veterans and families of the fallen.
• Departure from Normandy (motorcade to Caen – Carpiquet Airport; helicopter to Charles de Gaulle Airport).
• Departure of the President of the United States.

With regard to security provisions, French authorities have prepared a comprehensive plan to ensure the highest standards of protection throughout the President’s visit. The Protection Service will assume responsibility for close protection, working in coordination with the United States Secret Service to provide seamless coverage at all times. We fully recognise that the President of the United States is accompanied at all times by the United States Secret Service. France is committed to facilitating their mission; however, in order to do so we kindly request that the United States Secret Service provide us in advance with a complete list of assigned personnel as well as a detailed inventory of their equipment. This will enable us to issue the necessary authorisations permitting agents to carry their service arms while on French territory.

Meanwhile, the National Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN) will remain on immediate stand-by as the designated tactical response unit. Supplementing these measures, the French National Police and Gendarmerie will jointly secure the perimeter of all venues visited, establishing both inner and outer security cordons.

Airspace over Normandy will be subject to temporary restriction, with the French Air and Space Forces ensuring constant aerial surveillance and providing air defence coverage throughout the duration of the commemorations. Naval assets of the French Navy will also be deployed in the Channel to reinforce maritime security and safeguard the approaches to the landing beaches.

Taken together, these provisions reflect France’s commitment to ensuring that the President of the United States absolute safety.
