The Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation was founded on August 14th, 1947 as a witness to Partition and The Nations First steps towards Sovereign Independence. In 1972, It received its namesake having transmitted as Radio Pakistan prior to that. Today nearly 50 years later, it continues to do so via Islamabad.

"Greetings Pakistan Broadcasting Service. We are speaking from Lahore. The night between the thirteenth and fourteenth of August, year forty-seven. It is twelve o'clock. Dawn of Freedom."

50 years Ago, Time stood still. For those who witnessed the birth of the state and the movement that made it a living breathing reality for the generations to follow, on the 50th Year of Pakistan's existence as a sovereign state, we ask our listeners both in Pakistan and in the diaspora to remember the Quaid-i-Azam and the accomplishments of the Pakistan Movement along with those who served and died on the field of battle for their beloved country.

Greetings Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, Today in Islamabad, sorrounded by his esteemed colleagues, Muhammad Sayyid took the oath of Prime Minister.

Sayyid, 42, is a native of Quetta and The Chairman of the Islamic Democratic Workers Party, a left wing party that supports a programme of non-alignment, Islamic Democracy, and the socialisation of the economy in the service of the people and their republic.

Mr. Sayyid is stated as being in favour of economic links with China, Germany, Yugoslavia, Brazil, Turkey, and Ukraine while promoting free movement and a pact of mutual friendship with India. Sayyid, hopes in this way to best offset any further dependence on the likes of USA or any such temptation to waltz Pakistan into the camp of Russia.

In terms of Domestic Policy, Sayyid, favours a federalist conceptualisation of Pakistan complimented by a fusion of moderate social conservatism, civic nationalism, and a commitment to building socialism with a human face in Pakistan based on Market exchange.

Sayyid will take office effective tomorrow.
