PROJECT INFORMATION | The Regional Agri-Tech Centers in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Chai Nat are designed as specialized research and development facilities dedicated to advancing agricultural technologies. Each center occupies a land area of approximately 50 acres, strategically located near agricultural zones for easy access to farmlands for field testing and research. The centers are divided into three main functional areas: Sustainable Farming Research, Crop Yield Optimization Labs, and Automation & Robotics Development. Each area is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories featuring controlled environments for various types of crop simulation, soil analysis equipment, and high-throughput phenotyping platforms. The Sustainable Farming Research area focuses on developing eco-friendly farming practices. It includes greenhouses with adjustable climate controls and soil beds with nutrient monitoring systems. Researchers can manipulate variables like humidity, temperature, and soil pH to study their effects on crop growth and resilience. The Crop Yield Optimization Labs are equipped with gene sequencing and editing facilities, including CRISPR technology, to study plant genetics. Advanced imaging systems like hyperspectral cameras are used for non-invasive monitoring of plant health and growth stages. Data analytics platforms are integrated for real-time analysis of experimental data to quickly adapt and optimize research protocols. The Automation & Robotics Development area is designed to create and test agricultural machinery and robotics. It features fabrication labs with CNC machines, 3D printers, and assembly lines for prototyping. An adjacent testing field allows for real-world trials of newly developed machinery, including drones for aerial monitoring and automated tractors. Each center is connected to a central data repository, where all research data is securely stored and made accessible to authorized personnel for cross-referencing and collaborative studies. The data infrastructure is built on a high-availability, low-latency network with redundancy measures to ensure data integrity and availability. In terms of human resources, each center employs a multidisciplinary team of agronomists, geneticists, engineers, and data scientists. Staff members have access to continuous training programs to stay updated on the latest advancements in their respective fields. |
