“You will be provided with a vehicle and appropriate protections from your arrival in Stockholm to my offices, similarly for the return journey. Please ensure you remain in possession of your travel documentation and diplomatic passport upon arrival in Stockholm as you will not be permitted entry to the offices without them; please disseminate the same for your intern. I very much look forward to hosting your delegation.

Please sent me your itInveraray and I will ensure it reaches the National Security Office.”

That night both Vincente Delgado and Lupe Perez would board flight AeroMexico 452 and begin their flight across the Atlantic Ocean. They would land in Amsterdam at around 3:25 PM the next day and change over to flight KLM 523 headed for Stockholm. They would arrive at the terminal at 7:50 PM on the 16th of September. Once landed they would go to Customs and have their Diplomatic Passports checked, pending any complications they would proceed to Baggage to collect their bags and then proceed to the Arrivals Terminal. Both men would be dressed in 3-piece suits, however both would have their jackets unbuttoned. They would each be carrying a small black backpack, and each have 1 black suitcase, and would be carrying passports in hand. They would be searching for who they were supposed to meet.

Immediately upon receipt of the itinerary this would be forwarded onto the planning section of the National Security Office who would assigned two armed officers to a Volvo S80 destined to Stockholm Arlanda Airport. The vehicle was a simple black whilst the officers were fully uniformed in identifiable NSO uniforms. Upon the arrival of the Chairman his, and his colleagues, luggage would go through exactly the same security procedures as every other passengers - providing it passed the relevant checks it would be returned to him on arrival. Similarly his travel documentation would be checked following which he would be met by one of the officers to escort him out to the awaiting vehicle.

The drive through Stockholm was relatively short, arriving within an hour at the Department for Foreign Affairs - he would be instructed to visit reception for further instruction.

The men would greet the officers and enter the Volvo S80. Along their short trip through the city, they would converse in Spanish. They would speak of how beautiful the city looks and the surrounding green areas. Upon arrival the men would exit the car and thank the officers for the ride. They would gather their belongings and proceed into the Department for Foreign Affairs. They would walk up the reception area and present their passports.

"Hello, I am here to speak with Under Secretary of Foreign Affairs for Diplomacy, Amira Hedlund. I should be expected."

The receptionist would verify the documentation with security clearance information on her terminal before escorting the delegation onwards to the Under Secretary's office where they would be invited to take a seat at a large conference table upon which a variety of snacks and drinks would be provided and topped up throughout the meeting. This is a private office.

The Under Sceretary walks into the conference room and greets her guests:

"Chairman, welcome to Stockholm! I trust your flight and journey went well? I can imagine you're probably feeling the effects of flying across the Atlantic, please feel free to help yourself to any refreshments. I suppose I'll kick things off by asking you, how are things at home?"

Both gentleman would be dressed in a black 3-piece suit, Delgado was an older man around his mid 50s, while Perez was still quite young in his early 20s. As they entered the conference room, they would converse in Spanish about the size of the room, and how nice it looks.

"Thank you for seeing us Under Secretary Hedlund." Chairman Delgado would say as he went for a handshake, then proceeded to get some coffee. He would then take a few sips and take a seat. "This is my associate, Lupe Perez; he is an intern over at the Secretary of Foreign Affairs." As he directs his hand over to his associate. Lupe would extend his hand to shake Under Secretary Hedlund's hand. "The flight was quite long, but we managed to get some rest. First let me say I do apologies that it takes me coming across the Atlantic to ensure peace and cooperation between our countries. I am on orders directly from the Office of the President to ensure this peaceful transaction goes well. The current Secretary of Foreign Affairs is in review right now due to her outburst about the Swedish Government. As far as home goes, it's as well as Mexico goes. Cartels still run rampant, although they hide in the shadows like the rats they are. Regardless Mexico is the safest it's been in years. Much is changing there and with a new president in a couple months crime has been quiet. You have quite a beautiful city Under Secretary, Stockholm is quite gorgeous, although a bit colder than home." Delgado would say as he chuckled. Perez would remain quiet and also go prepare a cup of coffee for himself, taking in notes on how to conduct talks with another foreign diplomat.

"It is an honour to host the both of you in Stockholm and rest assured I will ensure your needs are catered for throughout your stay here - I would encourage you to see some of the tourist attractions before you leave and even try some of the fantastic restaurants through the city. But yes, you may want to wrap up warm, its quite a bit colder than Mexico!

Politics is complex and dynamic, please be assured that nobody is offended by the right of you and your government to have your own views and opinions. There are undoubtedly going to be times where we don't agree with one another, this is a common denominator throughout the globe as we all have vested interests in a range of situations worldwide. I trust that our departments in particular can work closer in the future to prevent such a... public... dissection of our relationship; which may encourage a closer working future together throughout our governments.

So, let me ask, what brings you to request this meeting?"

"I would would be honored to check out the sites around the city, but of course business comes first. I am here on behalf of the President, Randolph Hernandez. Late President Zedillo sponsored those words by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, however President Hernadez does not. He has kept her in the cabinet in respect to President Zedillo. President Hernandez would like me to rebuild and reestablish good ties with Sweden. With a new president coming into office in December it is crucial that the Mexican Government fixes any past transgressions. First off Mexico is lifting its embargo on Sweden, furthermore Mexico would also like to reinstate travel and lift any inhibitors on Sweden. However due to the tension in South Africa, the travel ban shall remain in effect, at least until the country is stable. I understand my government and yours may not see eye to eye on the South Africa... situation. However, that does not mean that diplomacy can't resume.

A few other topics that I'd like to discuss are that of trade, education, and global politics."

"The words of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs did come as an unexpected shock to our administration - especially given we have had little in the way of diplomacy between our nations; the comments expressed to the media almost certainly drove a bullet train through a very fragile section of track. Mexico up to now however has shown great compromise and honour in your ability to negotiate for the sake of the people - the lowering of travel restrictions and the retention of diplomatic missions has been of great assistance to the people we serve; and ultimately that's all that matters.

I am intrigued by your understanding of the situation in South Africa and why this may encourage the necessity for a travel ban? Could we discuss?"

"At the time the previous administration was heavily influenced by the Global Assembly proposal. President Zedillo is very Pro-American and favored their side of the debate. The current administration under President Hernandez still favors the American side, however, does not want any ill relations with Sweden. My current understanding is that South Africa declared war on Sweden with no formal military in place. The Mexican Media had little to no coverage of the story, until the invasion. It was believed by Mexicans that there were potential peace talks between Sweden and South Africa, however, I am uncertain of this. I do know that the administration of South Africa fled the country prior to the invasion and was then killed by Turkish air defenses. The exact details still remain a mystery to me, however, I can say without a doubt that the Mexican Government does not trust Turkey or their intentions. Their extreme ideology has left Mexico on edge. Especially with their Anti-American views. Some more light on the entire situation may increase public view of Sweden. As discussed earlier I will see to it that Mexico will lift its travel ban as well as the trade embargo, upon my arrival back home. I am curious as to how the talks are going between America and Sweden. It would be beneficial for all to see diplomacy prevail. A war would be devastating not just for your country and America but for the world as a whole."
