The Cambodian Prime Minister would shoot back with another statement. "It took us so long to make this move because we were busy weighing the pros and cons, then passing the action through our democratic process before declaring anything. As for our men deployed there, they are simply a precaution, proved necessary by spotting your military drones flying in Cambodian airspace. Before when this case was brought to the ICJ, Thailand deployed soldiers to seize the temple. We have no doubt you would try and subvert justice and do it again. Similarly to the time that you forced tens of thousands of Cambodians down the cliff, shooting and throwing rocks at men, women, and children, usherin them into a minefield, where 3,000 died. Our guns are aimed at the sky. Not at Thailand. There is a distinction. The Royal Thai Armed Forces have done nothing to protect your people and your nation- The only things they have done are cut down hundreds of your own people in a short-lived Civil War until foreign powers intervened, and slaughtered tens of thousands of innocent Lao. We anticipate your goons to try and pull some illegal maneuvers. Hence why we do not trust you."

——————————
As soon as the lights on the major Thai highway went out, the Cambodian Gendarmerie would go on high alert. Highway lights never go out at night. When the Thai operatives arrived at the visitors center in their loud armored vehicles, Cambodian officers in a BRDM-2 hidden in the treeline a mere 400 feet away (Cambodian territory), their engines off as it was in a stationary position, would be able to audibly detect the Thai. Immediately they would utilize the NVD sights the scout car is equipped with to spot the over 100 Thai soldiers creeping along the road closer and closer to the Cambodian border. Taking videos and photographs of the soldiers and vehicles, they would radio it into the battalion HQ who would then alert all others. By the time the Thai reached 14.398547, 104.680403, two BRDM-2s stationed a few dozen feet from a temporarily erected border gate, would be able to spot the soldiers using their NVD sights and IR spotlights. After attaining some imagery, they would both aim their main MGs at the sky and fire off a number of bursts of tracer fire. Then a flare would be sent up, illuminating the road, allowing for better visibility of the Thai, where more photographs would be taken. Immediately images would be sent out to news agencies, and the information would spread like wildfire.

——————————
"Yes, madam Ambassador. We can confirm we have not stepped foot inside of Thailand. Here, let me show you around the temple."

After escorting her up the stairways, he would walk her through the temple, the outside perimeter, outside of the historical area would be covered in Gendarmerie armed with heavy equipment. Inside of every section of the temple itself, there was a much less concentrated maybe 80 men total, armed with rifles, standing guard, with other guards not on shift sleeping in sleeping bags on the ground next to them. The temple was untouched and unaltered. Right around this time, the stand-off at the border would begin, with two machine guns rattling in the distance before a flare would go up, casting long shadows through the temple's openings and across the commander and ambassador.

When the Thai forces arrived at the visitor center, it would be impossible for the Cambodian officer in the armored car to spot them, even with their NVD sight. The only forest the officer can camp in is 400 feet away from the visitor, and the place must be in Cambodian territory. There is no forest at the visitor center, and the officer would be waiting at the National Forest on the lower attitude. An officer can hear the vehicle and metal sound from the mountain, but they can't spot the Thai forces as they don't cross the border to the Cambodia side to the cliff. The Cambodian gendarmerie wouldn't know the presence of Thai forces in their sight, so they couldn't confirm that they were any Thai soldiers. They would continue to travel to the destination and wouldn't stay on the highway as it is not cautious. They would use their night vision or thermal sight along their way while moving from cover to cover until they reached their destination. The Cambodian forces wouldn't spot any of them along the way as there was no hiding place on the Cambodian side until they arrived at the front staircase. It would be impossible for the two armored cars to spot Thai soldiers at 14.398547, 104.680403 with that many trees, buildings, obstruct, and the angle of their position. They wouldn't even see the place where the soldier was there. The eleven reconnaissance soldiers would slowly crawl up the hill instead of using the staircase and move from each tree to cover themselves. The two BRDM-2s would be behind the top of the front staircase, which should be at the pathway of the Preah Vihear, where a small wall around it(higher than the vehicle itself). The Thai soldiers would have a clear passage when they crawled to the top and saw the detail from the left and right sides of the staircase. They would perform the same task before return back downhill. They should now be aware of the strength of the Cambodian gendarmerie. There would be no flare, or machine gun shot to the sky if they couldn't spot the Thai forces.

Granted that the initial officers could not make visual contact with the vehicles, an alert would be raised regardless, any vehicles this close to the border in such precarious a situation are a threat. As for the Thai forces scouting out the Temple, in order for them to make visual contact with the Gendarmerie, they would be required to come out of the protective clutter of buildings. Thus, in order to complete their scouting mission, they would be vulnerable to being spotted by the Gendarmerie. If there was a wall 8 feet tall at the top of the staircase blocking the vehicles' views, then it could be assumed that the infantry on a downward slope below would be able to see nothing at all of the temple and its guards. Either they would collect their information and be spotted, or simply find nothing but a blank wall, with sounds and signs of life behind it and up above in the temple.

The Ambassador would take notice, seeing that the Temple was unscathed and that the Cambodian forces clearly did not cross the border into Thailand, there was no evidence of this, only that they were remaining on their side of the border. It was clear however that Thai Forces were beginning to enter the area and that they fired the first shot. As the security situation began to deteriorate, the Ambassador would be swiftly escorted by her diplomatic security protection back to the car, where they would drive her out of the area and back tp Phnom Penh. Once she was back in Phnom Penh she would report what was happening at the Thai-Cambodian border back to her superiors in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. This would eventually make its way back up to the Prime Minister who was on the phone to the Thai Ambassador.

"Mr. Ambassador, you need to patch this phone call through to the Prime Minister of Thailand. This conversation is too important to be handled by you. These are conversations of war and peace." The Prime Minister would say as the Ambassador picked up the phone.

Although the Thai forces couldn't find any Cambodian Ganderamies, they could hear life, indicating that there were people present. Instead of slowly emerging from cover, the reconnaissance forces would retreat, leaving no trace of their presence. They wouldn't learn the details, and the Cambodian soldiers wouldn't fire any flares or machine guns into the air or tree. The Thai soldier would return to the visitor center and then use their vehicle to retreat to the base without leaving anything behind to recognize their presence once they had returned to the 14.398547, 104.680403 coordinates. The soldier would send file information regarding such a mission to the Headquarters in Bangkok, which remained top-secret for the nation's stability.

The Thai Prime Minister and the Army General speak over an encrypted line while getting monitored by the NIA at the Thai Government House in Bangkok. "How accurate is that statement when we consider the likelihood that Cambodia may have soldiers stationed at our border or may be running an operating base from which it may harm us?" It takes a moment before he gets the answer. "Even though Cambodia has a history of being adversarial toward us, we don't believe it will be necessary for them to establish military facilities close to our border. The most likely scenario is that they used paramilitary or armed police forces this morning. They wouldn't dare to pressure us into a military conflict after what we have done in Laos." When he receives the reply, he continues immediately. "In the event of a conflict, how will things pan out? How powerful are our armed forces in comparison to those of Cambodia? If Cambodia does not desire peace, we must ensure that we are capable of winning a war." The General takes a while to answer, but he replies with confidence eventually. "Although Cambodia's armed forces are much stronger than Laos', I am convinced we will prevail in almost all scenarios. We know they have been keeping at least 100,000 active-duty soldiers on hand for some time, but we are unsure of their level of training or equipment. Even though we have three times as many soldiers as they do, we must calculate so as not to go over our balance. We still have a plan to expand the Air Force, and as I've said, we will win. Do not be concerned." The Prime Minister gets relieved before getting interrupted by the NIA employee monitoring them. I apologize, Mr. Prime Minister, but the Thai ambassador to Australia has forwarded a call with an urgent matter. It appears to be from the Prime Minister of Australia." The Prime Minister then replies. "What are they even doing at 2 am? Doesn't they should have slept by now. Give the clearance." The NIA employee would connect the line from Australia to the Prime Minister with encryption while they monitor and record the conversation. "Hello, This is Thaksin. I am the Prime Minister of Thailand."

"Mr. Prime Minister, I'm a little concerned about what is happening on the border with Cambodia. My Ambassador has just been to the area and has reported back that Cambodian troops have not crossed the border and she has confirmed to me that the Temple is intact and unscathed. Why are you telling the media that there has been a Cambodian invasion? And just after we achieved peace with Laos? We are beginning to look more and more unfavourably on your government as the weeks go by. This type of behaviour in South East Asia cannot be tolerated."

Between Thailand and Cambodia, there has been a significant misunderstanding, sir. We asked to send a team of investigators to the Preah Vihear temple. By perhaps blocking its border with us and stationing thousands of Gandemarie at the shrine, Cambodia rejected it with that act. The military has observed the unusual tourists flow coming from the temple path. We have soldiers stationed all around our nation. Many people find Cambodia unsettling, which undermines their strategy for vacation. I must admit that I have never given anyone the command to claim that Cambodia has invaded. We have never asserted that Cambodia invaded Thailand. We merely mentioned that they had crossed into Thailand, leading to a misunderstanding regarding Thailand and Cambodia. I believe we have resolved with them regarding the border crossing. After reaching a peace agreement with Laos, we are grateful to be able to defend our citizens, and we won't allow a neighboring nation to threaten us with war again. If Australia doesn't like Thailand, that's fine. If this Oceania country wishes to engage in Southeast Asian politics, we will still need to cooperate."

"I still don't have any evidence that they "crossed" into Thailand. As my Ambassador reported, there was no Cambodian forces on the Thai side of the border or any evidence they were on the Thai side. In terms of the temple, you cannot force an inspection on the site if it's not even within your sovereign territory. You could have asked a third-party to take a look at it. We did it regardless. The temple is fine, the site is undamaged. There is definitely nothing to worry about in terms of the temple. I want reassurances that this matter has now been put to rest and if there is any further issues between Cambodia and Thailand or Laos and Thailand or any neighbouring country, you contact us as a third-party to investigate and mediate. We only wish to see a maintenance of peace in the region, especially with important trade routes so close to Thailand and many Australian tourists visiting Thailand. Just a reminder that the city of Broome on our north-west coastline is closer to Thailand than it is to Tasmania and Christmas and Cocos Islands are closer to Thailand than they are to most of mainland Australia."

"I want to reserve my right not to talk about what had ended, and the crossing things have served their duty. I don't understand what you are trying to convey, but you have been accusing us since the start of this phone call, and they are all fallacies that mark prejudging Thailand. I don't think that there is any statement telling that Thailand nor Cambodia has stated that 'we' have forced an inspection on the temple that is in the so-called Cambodian sovereignty. People accused me since the War in Laos that I started the war, but no one has ever considered that every tension causing that war was from Laos. All I did was send an NIA research team to the temple area. I desire peace, I emphasize them to request Cambodia in advance, yet war will still be our last resort. I did not ask any third party because it is unnecessary, especially since there is no reason to bring Australia into our long-lasting 40 years of dispute. Even if you had inspected the temple of Preah Vihear, you would still completely misinterpret the scope of what we intend to send the research team. I don't care much about the temple's condition because Cambodia will take care of it well. I am concerned about the possibility of Cambodia deploying military forces in the temple of Preah Vihear. We will have the ICJ case regarding the 'temple' if the Chief Justice approves our application, and Thailand or Cambodia won't risk losing the credit in the court. I will continue my policies diplomatically."

"The so-called Cambodian sovereignty? I think I understand the position of Thailand now. You think that the Temple is your territory. Well at this point in time it's Cambodian sovereignty and if you make any unilateral decisions to change that you will not have the support of this government. Maintaining the status quo is paramount. If you believe that it is rightfully Thai territory, then take that to the ICJ like you said you have, but do not attempt to take it any further than the ICJ. If you make any unilateral decisions to take the Temple, to violate Cambodian sovereignty by forcing an inspection, you will completely jeopardise the ICJ case. War should not be a resort at all, not even a last one. You should not be starting wars over this Temple. If you started a war over this Temple we will consider our options. Australia plays a paramount role in maintaining peace and security in the Indo-Pacific so we do not see it as unnecessary, you may contact us at any time for any dispute that arises in the region.

Well Mr. Prime Minister, my Ambassador was escorted through the entire Temple area by military forces so yes, the Cambodians do have military forces in the area, but again, it's their sovereignty so they have every right to."

"Well, from the beginning of September, we have already sent the application. We are concerned about Cambodia's stance on peace because of this. We reiterate that we do not believe there to be military, but they have shut the border and sent paramilitary forces there. We have a network for intelligence. They wouldn't want to stir up trouble, so sending over a thousand military soldiers there would be too provocative. If Cambodia doesn't put down the gauntlet as Laos has. I won't go to war. I am confident their prime minister is astute enough to prevent suffering for his people. Before we can finish, I need to give you a heads up. Hun Sen, Cambodia's Prime Minister, is not who you believe he is. He is capable of becoming ruthless, with no regard for human sensibilities. It's something we have known in Southeast Asia for quite some time. You can enquire about this subject in Singapore with their former prime minister." He'll pause for a moment. "Mr. Prime Minister, it's getting late. Not quite two in the morning in Australia." He will excuse himself to end the phone call and finish his day. Owen

Dear Hun Sen,

It's a rare opportunity for me to communicate with you via email while speaking on behalf of the Thai government and country. I recognize that when we denounced your coup in 1997, we felt strongly against you. Your campaign's triumph in the 1998 election allowed you to become the country's First position, prime minister. Since you have served as Cambodia's First or Second Prime Minister for more than fifteen years, I think you should have gained valuable leadership experience. You continue to be tough on us and may even continue to support Vietnam as you have done since your first day in the prime minister's office. At least the UN is no longer there to condemn your leadership. I want to invite you to the negotiation in Bangkok tomorrow, where we will communicate how we feel about the reason you decided to seal the border. So that our civilians can spend the holiday in Thailand and Cambodia, we must find a quick solution to the issue. I understand that you find the things our military has done in the past to be abhorrent. However, I think that your administration has brought about more pain than it has alleviated. We don't want to clash with your country, and I believe Cambodia seeks to make peace with us rather than cling to the past and seek revenge. I'll get everything ready for your welcome at your preferable time.

To Thaksin Shinawatra,

We believe that our stance has already been made. We are not looking to re-open the border. This is an act of protest against your government and abhorrent misuse and abuse of military power. I see no need to open borders for tourism, Thailand benefits practically none from Cambodian tourism, and Cambodia receives far more tourists from China and Vietnam. I also do not see why we cannot make our statement and avoid "Clashing with your country", as you say. As for "Clinging to the past and seeking revenge"... Firstly, what you call the past occurred a few short months ago and undid generations of effort to bring a brother country into the modern era. Secondly, what is this seeking revenge you speak of? We have done nothing of the sort. I see no need for "negotiations". Have a fine day.

Dear Hun Sen,

I have to bargain with you that our intention doesn't only depend on the tourism between Thailand and Cambodia, as it is what you have said, we aren't dependent on each other from that business sector. I want to express that my clear purpose in seeing the Thai-Cambodian border come back to life is about our cooperation for the growth of the economy. Thailand has enacted the Ninth National and Social Development Plan, and it's all about the strategy that will bring Thailand and its neighboring country into economic and social development cooperation. We look to the golden age of Southeast Asia of the prosperity of the country's presence in this region, our home. We have various infrastructure plans involving the highway and connection routes to Cambodia. We will develop them with modern technology, especially when we are the leader in Southeast Asia development. We have adopted many facilities for our nation, including the Intelligent Transport Systems that integrate every traffic information around the country in real-time. We are building Suvarnabhumi Airport, which will be one of the largest airports ever existed in our world today. We have been investing in the Logistics system development that has improved our supply chain and the LSPs' effectiveness. We look to the G2G or inter-governmental data links with Cambodia, which will help us to maintain stability in our trade and business. I have various plans for Thailand and Cambodia to cooperate, which I hope you will open up with us.

To Thaksin Shinawatra,

For all of your talk about bringing Southeast Asia into prosperity, you seemed little concerned about taking the torch to an entire country and its major industry just a few months ago before trying to force your own industries across its borders- an economic coup d'état, you could say. You intended to take advantage of the nation you had burned to the ground and use it as the footprint for an extension of your economy. To assimilate its economy into yours. As for these infrastructure plans that you have seemingly made in our absence... at this rate, we will not be permitting your infrastructure to expand into our country. Not under your current ruling party at least. We do not plan on cooperation with your current government.

Dear Hun Sen,

I have no argument to make with you further regarding the border closure as I now comprehend it is a genuine protest action of our War in Laos. I still wish to negotiate the withdrawal of Cambodian Gendarmeries from the Temple of Preah Vihear. I have heard from the Australian Prime Minister that he regards your deployed forces as military personnel, not paramilitary or armed police. I, as the prime minister of Thailand, want Cambodia to withdraw the deployment of Gendarmerie from the Temple of Preah Vihear. Thailand and Cambodia still have an existing dispute in that are of the subject, and we have never agreed on whatever it is the rightful territory of whom. If you deploy any combatant personnel there, you consider it yours, which will escalate the dispute that we had quieted down for decades. We do not have a map that shows the border delineation in that area that the international consider legitimate. The Judge in our previous ICJ case also dismissed the map you hold and regard lawful. I hope you will consider withdrawing your forces.

Following the absence of the Cambodian government to conduct an efficient response to the request from the Thai Prime Minister, the Thai government must forward its deploy troop closer to the border to reassure the doubt of Cambodia's intention. The same deployed personnel from Post #73 will move from their temporal base in Sao Thong Chai to the 14.398547, 104.680403, where they will establish an outpost(with facilities) to support their operation securing the border (at early morning). The 2nd Army Command Unit will take control of the military base in Sao Thong Chai as a Forward operating base and supply the soldier. The personnel will equip their vehicles, such as Gaz Tiger and GAZ Vodnik, with extra armor plates, and they will have the machine gun mounted on them like others. The soldiers will receive the same equipment and protection as mentioned in Post #80, but they will also have access to SR-25, Barrett M82, M249, M72 LAW, M132A1 Mortar, and 9K38 Igla SA-18 from the new logistic unit. The Reconnaissance unit will regularly patrol the border without crossing into Cambodia. They will fire a warning shot into the sky if they see any Cambodian forces attempt to cross into Thailand. The same unit will also fly up the Elbit Hermes 450 UAV from the outpost to the attitude of 150 meters (492 feet) before using its camera to picture the Temple of Preah Vihear and the environment, including the Cambodian Gendarmerie at 1500(time). The UAV will land after 5 minutes of its operation within Thailand without crossing into Cambodia airspace. The outpost should have the facilities for shielding the equipment, storage, and soldiers' camp, which is technically a military installation that can support the personnel of its role. They will communicate with the base in Sao Thong Chai on the encrypted line. They will capture the Cambodia radio signal that goes through the border. The Thai government will also request the Cambodian government again on the same day to withdraw the deployed forces at the temple privately and courteously through fax and email. The deployed soldiers will be on high alert and stationed there for now.

On the 22nd of November, at 1500, the military personnel station at the main operating base in Sao Thong Chai forwarded a message that will evaluate the tension level between the Thai-Cambodian border for a while. The signal unit at the military installation near the temple of Preah Vihear receives such notice in the mere time before the reconnaissance patrol team will come back to switch the duty to the others in the squad. "Hey, look, we have news for our command and control room. --- Oh, well, it doesn't sound that nice when you read about it." Man personnel in the room get doubted and turns to the same man operating the desk. "What's so matter that much to prompt me?" He looks at the message on the screen, reading the information. The same man then get surprised by what he has seen. "Definitely what we have been waiting for from the higher command. We all don't want to stay here too long as it will cause tension, and some of us already have a family." The first man then converses with him. "I need to inform Major. Let's watch what he is going to do with it. Don't forget about your guns. We might need to defend ourselves in the worst-case scenario." He walks out of the facility to meet their field officer, bringing him to concentrate d the message. The officer walks inside the building and straight to the screen on the same desk. "Yes, sir, I understand that we have less than what it takes to occupy the whole area, but they don't specify that subject." They reach the destination, and the personnel there gives a salute before walking back to his workplace. The officer reads the message and gives himself time to focus on it. "We will have to plan out the engagement with their gendarme. Reply that we have acknowledged the mission." The officer walks out to his camp while the whole base becomes fully alert for the preparation as soldiers prepare themselves with military combat suits with camouflage. They equip themselves with their weapon of choice, and two teams set up their mortar. The logistic unit also supplies them with a newer ATGM, Spike-MR.

The soldiers are now ready to pursue their mission to confront the Cambodian forces to leave the temple of Preah Vihear at 1600. As they know that there might be two BRDM-2s waiting for them at the top of the staircase on the Cambodian side, there are soldiers that have themselves with M72 law and Spike-MR. There are 20 soldiers, two combat engineers, a signal unit, four combat medics, and three reconnaissance units that will participate in the confrontation near the front building at 14.396436, 104.680371. The platoon of 30 men cheers quietly before getting into the mission to keep their morale up. They will rush swiftly up the staircase from their base while making less noise to keep themselves as low as possible. They use their thermal sight around their position while moving to ensure that no Cambodians are around them during their movement. They are reaching near and near the borderline, meaning they are close to the top of the staircase. They will instantaneously run forward, and the soldiers with the ATGM in the front covering by others on the side. When they encounter the two BRDM-2s, they will fire out the anti-tank at both vehicles. It will destroy the BRDM-2s while killing the Cambodian forces inside it. After that engagement, they will fire up a flare into the sky before rushing back to their base.

As the soldiers crept up the staircase at 1600 hours (early afternoon), they would very quickly come into view of the BRDM-2s, which were already on alert from the nights before when a similar event had occurred. However, while the anti-tank troops prepare to shoot, as it takes at LEAST 10 seconds to sight the M72 LAW, and the much bulkier SPIKE-MR takes a minimum of 45 seconds to set up and fire, the vehicles mounted machine guns can fire as soon as the men breach their cover, while the troops are still running into firing position. It can be assumed that the LAW would be able to get a shot off, crippling or simply destroying one of the armored cars in one go. The other, however, would continue to fire and gun down the remaining AT soldier with efficiency, before turning its gun on the 30 other soldiers out in the open as well. With 2 machine guns lighting them up, about 12 would be killed, 15 wounded, and 3 would manage to escape untouched. Of the wounded about 11 could likely run or get away with their wounds and escape. This would leave 12 bodies and 3 prisoners in the Cambodian's hands. Immediately the situation would be reported to higher command, and the cameras previously described as being given to the Gendarmerie would send footage of the event to high command, who would demand it played uncensored on every possible TV channel. Soon the entire Indochinese world, and after that, the world at large would know of this treacherous attack.

The Prime Minister would immediatley call a secret National Security Committee of Cabinet meeting in the Cabinet Room at Parliament House. The Cabinet Room had an extreme aura about it, being the place where the toughest decisions of government were made, particularly those decisions of whether or not to send the Australian Defence Force into life or death situations. No Prime Minister ever wants to have to make those decisions, but it was a necessary part of the job. He knew that this was going to become a matter of war or peace for South East Asia. The Prime Minister knew what South East Asian conflicts meant for Australia. He was one of the lucky ones who missed out on National Service during the Vietnam War. Currently the only member of the Australian Parliament who served in Vietnam was Graham Edwards, the Member for Cowan. Graham and the Prime Minister were close friends, being both from the Western Australian Labor Party and as previous electorate neighbours before the Prime Minister switched from Swan to Brand. The scars of those Vietnam War veterans was still felt throughout the community and the Prime Minister was adamant he would avoid a second Vietnam.

As all the members of the National Security Committee gathered in the room the Prime Minister would begin to speak. The Chief of the Defence Force would be invited to the meeting.

"Alright I'm going to keep it short. An attack has taken place at the Temple Preah Vihear in Cambodia. The Office of National Intelligence has no doubt that the Thai Forces were responsible for this and that Thailand is attempting to find a Casus Belli to reclaim this part of Cambodia or worse... invade the entirety of Cambodia. They failed in Laos and they're trying somewhere else. This is a nation which we trusted, we trusted enough to station our forces there. Now they are the thorn in the side of South East Asia. I've been on the phone to Prime Minister Mohamed of Malaysia and Prime Minister Chok Tong of Singapore and I've re-assured them of our ongoing commitment to the Five Powers Defence Arrangements and that any attack on Malaysia or Singapore by Thailand will result in our swift involvement. I will soon make a phone call to the Prime Minister of Cambodia. I'm done talking with Thailand, nothing productive comes out of those conversations. I'm afraid their mind is set on their plans, which is unfortunate. I want plans in the next few hours regarding potential military responses by ourselves."

The Prime Minister would make a phone call to Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia.

As Kelly said, the AT soldiers would need to take time to set themselves into a firing position. The M72 LAW would successfully destroy the armored vehicle and kill (4?) personnel that operate inside after the explosion at the turret front and possibly penetrate inside through front hatches. Although there is no exact identified location of the two armored vehicles, it is reasonable to assume that they have to line up close to each other with no more than 2 meters due to the size of BDRM-2 and the pathway. The explosion would slightly quake the other, which scarcely reduces their efficiency. They would kill 3 Thai soldiers and wound 4 of them. The Thai soldier would take cover after they fired the first ATGM by lying down on the staircase as they don't stay away much in their position. The Cambodian forces inside the vehicle wouldn't be able to fire any lower as the surface is blocking, and the lowest angle of -5 that their armament can perform. The soldier with Spike-MR wouldn't fire the missile, but the other one with M72 law could fire another rocket that his teammate had carried with him from the start. The Medic in the team would take care of the wounded. The other Thai soldiers in the platoon would equip their M4A1 with the M203 grenade launcher while three soldiers fire their M249 into the BDRM-2 without breaching their cover position. While they can't penetrate the armor with only a light machine gun, the others will fire their M249(which all the crew members possess) with the help of indirect fire sight into the armored vehicle turret's top without landing the grenade on the ground. It would cause a massive tremor to the personnel inside, and leaving the vehicle is suicide for them as the only exit is the front hatch. If the grenade can't destroy a BDRM-2, the Thai soldier will fire the M72 LAW that they have prepared for a second launch, or they will fire the Spike Missile. After launching the blue flare into the sky, the Thai Soldier will descend to the lower ground carrying three of their companions' bodies. Cambodia will lose eight self-sacrificing soldiers for the safety of national treasures. The Thai media will request evidence from the Gendarmerie that they have recorded the clash between the two sides. In a brief time, the whole nation of Thailand recognized the impending danger of violence over the Temple of Preah Vihear, which both Thailand and Cambodia claim as part of their shared national history.
