As soon as the Thai descended below the vehicle's gun elevation, it would reverse its way out of the fire zone, as the first few grenades began raining down around it, exploding harmlessly on the outer armor but shaking the crew's morale. Immediately Gendarmerie who were In the vicinity (A significant number considering that ~1,000 men were based in the temple) would jump to combat positions, and soon grenades from M203 grenade launchers would begin to drop down by Thai advance, fired from behind cover using the very loud gunshots to find their location with ease. Once the Thai guns went silent and they began to retreat, Gendarmerie would rush towards the staircase, staying on their side of the border, and doing their best to gun down any retreating Thai, entering into a firefight with any remaining. Utilizing the wall cover provided, they would use combined rifle fire, machine gun fire, and grenades fired from underbarrel launchers to numerically dominate the Thai soldiers.

As soon as the reports of fighting were broadcasted on the radio channels, about two minutes after it broke out, Type 59-1 crews of the 1st Infantry Division ran to readiness positions. Being stationed under 10 miles away from the temple, they would be well within firing range. If the small arms firefight proceeded, and the Thai location could be passed through the radio, a barrage of 10 130mm shells would simultaneously make their way to the ancient stairway, and the handful of Thai soldiers still there. If it came to this point, it can be assumed that all Thai soldiers would be dead or wounded. After the artillery had finished its duty, the entire division would pick up from Sra'aem and move to about (14.36922769211799, 104.70929683533434) before setting up another disguised camp within the woods.

The nearby can hear loud sounds of machine guns and explosions from the staircases at the top of the mountain where the Temple of Preah Vihear standoff between Thailand and Cambodia has made their way below. At the same time, Thai soldiers back in their base on the lower ground will get into their position to stand ready for any attack that might advance. The field officers standstill at the front of their base with the faith that his men will return, and he can't accept that he has made an enormous mistake by sending them into a suicide mission and taking them from their loved ones. The artillery shell lands and explodes, killing all Thai soldiers as they valiantly jump out of the stairway and sprint to the building on their left for safety. The Thai soldiers tried desperately to fire back from the mountain top. Strong wind gusts blow down into the woods and directly at the Thai's base. It shocks an entirely of personnel there, even the NIA agent presence there who has rightly foresaw the conclusion. The brave troops below gather their spirits in readiness for the most trying moment they have faced up to that point. The field officer squeezed his fist firmly, filled with regret and enraged to exact revenge on his soldiers for their dauntlessness and bravery in carrying out his order to protect and serve their country. Even though the Thai soldiers had not caused any cracks when they fired the missile or grenade, he was optimistic that the Cambodian military would ensure the safety of the Temple of Preah Vihear and would not harm any of the architectural features. He eventually spits out the phrase, "They will pay for what they have done to our sons, and they will pay with lives and suffering," as his rage begins to take over his mind. He then makes a quick U-turn and heads back to the radio communication facility to place an order for an operation he plans to use to get revenge on his soldier. Before he turns on the transmitter to send his message to the main operating base, the NIA agent captures his hand expeditiously. "I know what you want to do, but I suggest you ponder your decision, major Kittithorn." He stares at the female operative face for a moment with the pressure that both sides release to threaten each other. "Yes, you are right. I can't turn down the regional stability and --" He speaks while walking around the operative before rapidly and strongly kicking her head. It makes her fall to the ground with unconsciousness. He spits out. "How do you guys think I can become the commander of this company. It's not linked back then anymore that the commander is weak. I warn the people in this room. I am the boss here." He then bents down to pick up the operative's cell phone and read the confidential information. He now communicates with the higher command. "SSK11 SSK11, This is SSK12" | "This is SSK11." | "Requesting all possible air support from the nearby airbase to strike at all clear ground targets around the Temple of Preah Vihear at 2000 break --- no target of presence on the temple ruin, out." After about a second, there is a message back to him. "Please repeat the request." He then repeats what he has said before getting replied. "We need higher clearance. Please affirm your clearance." He looks at the cell phone before turning back to the transmitter. "sndsetna5i9, sndsetna5i9." It takes almost ten seconds before his interlocutor speaks back. "Affirmative, over." The letters are shown on the cell phone screen disappear, leaving no evidence that they existed. At that moment, 15 F-16 AM Block 20 MLU and 7 F-16BM Block 20 MLU and the ground crew at the Ubon airbase start to prepare for a strike mission loadout for the aircraft. They can take off all of them within two times after the expansion of the facilities(Including the alert unit). Meanwhile, at the military base, the reconnaissance unit will perform the same mission as the UAV in post #96. They will get reinforcement from the Command Support Unit.

After the Command Support Unit at the main operating base in Sao Thong Chai received such a request from the communication with SSK12. They forward the message to the Ubon airbase. "UBNA1, UBNA1, this is SSK11." | "This is UBNA1." | "Requesting all possible air support to strike at all clear ground targets around the Temple of Preah Vihear at 2000 break --- no target of presence on the temple ruin, out." | "Sunny will standby for the mission, over." Immediately after the conversation ends, the 403rd Fighter Squadron turns to high alert and is ready to get deployed. The ground crew ran around the air base to arm the aircraft and assess their readiness. They start to move the Alert unit with the complement of 2 F-16 AM and 1 F-16 BM out of the newly renovated hangar while the others carry missiles, fuel tanks, ECM pods, and flares into the buildings. The crews will equip the other 22 aircraft with Strike mission loadout (In Aircraft armament: 6 × AGM-65G Maverick, SUU-42A/A Flares/Infrared decoys dispenser pod, and chaff pod, AN/ALQ-131 & AN/ALQ-184 ECM pods on the centerline, and 600 US gallon Sargent Fletcher drop tanks). The Alert unit can always deploy in less than five minutes if the air search air radar detects any Cambodian aircraft(The ground crews always equip them with Intercept mission loadout: 6 × AIM-120C AMRAAM, SUU-42A/A, Flares/Infrared decoys dispenser pod, and chaff pod, AN/ALQ-131 & AN/ALQ-184 ECM pods on the centerline, 600 US gallon Sargent Fletcher drop tanks).

When the time reaches 1940, the Ubon airbase will get busied again because many air force personnel have standby there for the upcoming mission. The Alert unit will be the first to take off from the airstrip, taking only two minutes as the crew has already brought them outside the hangar, and they fly around the airbase waiting for the others. The next in line is 8 F-16 AM and 3 F-16 BM. They will line up on the runway before heading toward taking off at 1947. They will then group up with the Alert unit and fly directly to the Temple of Preah Vihear while the Alert unit leads them. The others 7/4 F-16 AM/BM will take off at 1951. They all fly at a cruise speed of 577 mph or 928.5 km/h at 9000 meters from sea level. When they reach around 14°29'53.5"N 104°42'50.9"E, the Alert unit will give way to the other aircraft by head right, left, and up(180 degrees). The first squadron will fire all 6 of their AGM-65G Maverick at the area around the Temple of Preah Vihear where the Cambodian forces station(not the temple; should have no missiles fly at the temple). The total of 66 worth of 300 lb warhead is heading toward the soldier, vehicle, and facilities not near the temple at 1,150 km/h. It will reach the ground and explode at the target in less than 20 seconds, and the following squadron will perform the same while the Alert unit guards them. They will all return to base after that moment.

"What exactly is it?" Then he starts to whisper in his ear. "We must convene an urgent meeting." He quickly arranges his luggage inside his room. "How is this possible?"

As the Cambodians watched 130mm shells crash down, they let out a cheer, before returning to their positions and training their weapons on the destroyed building below. As a man, his leg crippled, attempted to limp out of the collapsed structure, a volley of shots dropped him in an instant. Besides those on watch, most of the Gendarmerie were in high spirits, even after having to recover the bodies of their fallen comrades and towing away the scorched scout car. The bodies were carried down the staircase and loaded onto pickup trucks before being shipped back to their families. Photographs of the bodies are taken and sent out to media agencies, alongside pictures of the soldiers from before their deaths. Detailed are their dates of birth, history, and other details that help attach their identities to their deaths.

Not too long after, the Gendarmerie would look up to the skies as jets streaked by, their engines roaring, trying their best to record the event. There were few Gendarmerie near the temple but not inside of it, consisting only of those guarding access roads and major nearby roads. In addition, most of these vehicles would be idle and not turned on for days, as well as entirely under tree cover. The thermally targeting anti-tank missiles would have a lot of trouble trying to lock onto the faint signatures, but considering there would be maybe 24 vehicles outside of the temples limits, it could be assumed that because of the quantity aircraft buzzing overhead that about 18 of the scout cars would be successfully targeted and destroyed. Most of these were at the entrances to access roads or on the highway border. Those tucked away deeper in the jungled back entrance roads would be mostly safe, considering how difficult it would be to spot them let alone get a lock on them. All of these missiles require lock on prior to firing, and are fully autonomous after firing, meaning they can only be used to target vehicles in this instance, without any structures to target. It is also possible that the missiles could target the empty transport trucks of the Gendarmerie, destroying about 48 of those. If this was repeated it is also probable that another 66 transport vehicles could be destroyed. The total loss of manpower would be 72 crewmen. After the airstrikes has subsided, photographs and videos would be taken of the wreckage, and sent back to media sources. The S-125 SAM systems accompanying the 1st division would go on high alert, incase another attack was to come and they were discovered.

The Gendarmerie commander would, after reporting back to his superior officers, attempt to contact the Australian ambassador who had recently visited.

Having had conversations with the Thai Prime Minister and seeing the situation unfold we can only feel like that the perpetrator of this entire situation is Thailand. We don't want a war in South East Asia, we don't care why somebody starts a war, the fact they started it without seeing a diplomatic solution means they're already off on a bad footing with us. It's just more work for myself when I could be focusing on other matters of domestic or international importance. I don't want to go back to Indochina, nobody does. But you have my government's full support short of military intervention. What's the situation on the ground currently?"

The Cambodian Prime Minister would respond in short order.

"An incursion of about 30 Thai soldiers recently attacked us in the afternoon, killing four of our own on watch and destroying an armored vehicle. They fired first, across the border into Cambodia and on the temple grounds, using grenades and ATGMs. Using our present deterrent forces, we pushed back the attack and killed all of the attackers. Shortly afterward, more than two dozen Thai aircraft crossed into our airspace. They dropped over 100 guided missiles into the vicinity around the Temple, destroying 18 armored cars and 72 crew with them, as well as over 100 uncrewed transports. Currently, we have close to 900 Gendarmeries stationed in the temple and very fearful for their lives, as well as about 10,000 men stationed 3 miles away and on standby following the first incursion. They have several SAM systems but shied away from targeting the Thai jets considering that as far as we know they have yet to be spotted. The situation is rapidly deteriorating, however, and the Thai seem like all their command is made up of raving madmen who don't have any respect for common law. They could do anything from here, and we need to be prepared. Unfortunately, our divisions are poorly armed, with little more than 10 artillery pieces and 50 tanks per 10,000-man division. "Why no report back yet?" A sound man asks into the room full of busied people looking and performing on the screen, analyzing the situation of the Temple of Preah Vihear standoff from the CCTV camera that appears to be the area around the military base. "The last time we could contact her was 24 minutes ago. It was before her signal went off from our screen." Another female personnel answers back to him. The man walks to the long desk where many operational reporters share their workplace. He steps toward one of the personnel before looking down at his screen. "Are you sure you have a check at every area we have access to the camera?" The personnel then changes the camera view back to the same point, and the large screen on the room's wall shows the soldiers on the military base still on high alert. "She wouldn't turn off the tracking device unless it got destroyed." He focuses on contemplating the possibilities of what has happened. In the meantime, he accidentally caught a glimpse of the CCTV footage about half an hour ago. It makes him shocked about what he thinks can be possible. He then rushes out of the room to the internal security department.

"Are we close yet?" A sound of a man whispering in the dimly lit forest with little moonlight. "We have about 100 meters left. Keep a low profile and discrete." A group of soldiers in combat suits stalk around from tree to tree with cover from the tall grass everywhere. "Lie down." They slowly crawl to where they can hear the sound of life after slowly bending their body to the ground and placing their gun in front of them. They are not there in a peaceful manner. They are drawing nearer and nearer to the military installation on the lower level of the Temple of Preah Vihear. They are experiencing bright light, indicating that they have reached their destination. Around each tree, they conceal themselves in sizable bushes shrouded in tall grass. When they are finally in position, a man pulls out a camera from their suit and begins to record and take pictures of everything in front of them. In the middle of the night, ten military personnel are still awake. They believe them to be a nighttime patrol unit. The soldiers disperse throughout the military installation surrounding, communicating with one another via radio equipment worn in their earpieces. They gradually cover every viewpoint they can access without entering the base and exposing their covert presence. They begin to communicate the lists and locations of the military personnel patrol unit, designating them as marked for attack. They get their silencer ready while they wait for the moment when everyone is traveling in their direction. Bullets apace shot out of the forest, piercing the targets' hearts in a second. Without realizing their body got blasted, the soldier collapses to the ground. With their guns aimed in all directions, the soldiers slowly take over the military installation. They huddle close to the military camp of slumbering soldiers or lean against a building. They assemble at the commander's lodging and get ready to kill the target before breaking the lock. With the help of their night vision goggles, they enter the building quietly and quickly make their way to the front of the bedroom. The entire structure explodes as they cautiously open the room's door, sending shockwaves throughout the vast space.

"Huff, huff." the sound of a man panting while running along a dark route in woodland while wearing a bulky outfit. A loud explosion occurs at that very time behind his back, sending a shockwave that ignites a scorching fire that shines brightly across the night. The man keeps moving along the trail as the sounds of chaos and chatter fill his behind before turning into the sounds of gunfire. He sprints for another minute before the noise quietens and dulls, and he begins to tumble to the ground. He was about to hit the rock when someone quickly reached out and grabbed his body to prevent injuries. Although he can't fully comprehend what happens around him, he can hear the sound of engines and the voices of various individuals. He only knows that if he keeps going in this direction, he will eventually reach a road and get assistance. Someone is carrying him somewhere, and he can understand a conversation from time to time. "Team Alpha is no more. We'll stay in touch with the 12th Infantry Division personnel on deployment." He is just able to hear it before becoming lightheaded and dozing off after being set down. The enigmatic group then divides into two, with one taking care of the same man and the other moving closer to the scene of the tragedy. A squad of 12 men walks to the opposite side of where the escaped man runs from an explosion. They are in combat uniform with the official emblem of a disbanded battalion that served in the Battle of Vientiane on their shoulder. The troops are already preparing hospitality for them by threatening them with gunfire as they draw near the military base. Since the battle has made them sufficiently terrified of dying, they don't appear to be afraid to keep walking. "If you don't fire them first, no soldier has a ball to shoot at you." The soldier eventually acknowledges that they arrived in peace and lacked any clear signs of danger. A veteran approaches the 30 soldiers who have just managed to survive the fighting, noting that the military base has dead bodies. "Listen, you guys are in a serious pickle. I can't tell what happened because there might be snipers everywhere, especially when we know that NIA is also the player. Everyone in front of me has an equal choice, and there are two. First, you guys come with us, and we promise to tell you what happened. Or, second, wait here until another team of soldiers that have been to real war to come and capture you, and the NIA will tell you what happened one by one during the interrogation."

As soon as the 12th Infantry Division soldiers under NIA directing had engaged with the deployed personnel that night, its headquarters immediately recalled some of their active duty back to Fort Sappasitthi Prasong in Ubon Ratchathani. The commander rallied 3,360 soldiers from their responsibility area to prepare themselves for a new deployment. As they gather at the Fort, the 2nd Army Command Unit will transport them to the Main operating base in Sao Thong Chai along with equipment. They will arrive at the Main Operating Base in less than 2 hours. They will establish an installation outside the village.

To the government of Cambodia,

I am the official Thai ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Cambodia, and I've been working in this field since 1994. I find it disappointing that Preah Vihear temple has become a point of contention and that relations between Thailand and Cambodia have deteriorated. When we consider who originally built the temple, we can see Cambodia erected it. It's frustrating that the French colonialization's border committee didn't provide a real expert to draw a boundary. We have been arguing about the sovereignty of the temple area for this reason. I can confirm that the Thai Foreign Ministry supports Cambodia's aim of maintaining peace in Southeast Asia by mediating between Cambodia and Thailand. The police investigator established, with the aid of an NIA detective, that the field commander who ordered the airstrike and engagement lacked proper authorization. The Thai government wishes to express regret for its inability to prevent the tragedy.

The Thai government demanded that until the International Court of Justice ruling, Cambodia must withdraw all of its soldiers from the Temple of Preah Vihear. If Cambodia fails to comply with the request, the Thai government will be forced to consider real military action in retaliation. Please don't complicate this any further.

As soon as the ambassador has sent the message to the government of Cambodia, the deployed personnel will be on high alert and on standby for their engagement to extrude the Cambodian forces from the Temple of Preah Vihear. They will install explosive reactive armor to the BMP-3 and BTR-90 and supplementary armor plates for the GAZ Tiger and GAZ Vodnik that can withstand 7.62 mm caliber. They will cover the Land Rover Wolf WMIK with brushes, and all these mobility vehicles have heavy machine guns mounted(including Gaz Tigr and Vodnik.) Each soldier will receive their standard loadout, which includes most of the SOPMOD kit they had used in training. They will begin their movement when three days have passed if Cambodia has not answered.

Scenario for What if Cambodia hasn't responded to Thailand's demand

Visualization of an offensive plan​

The Thai forces will start their way into the starting position as in the plan at 1300, the hottest of time day. They should be fully rested and prepared for the fight with the Cambodian side, as this is their first larger mission, but they also have the same training standard as others in the army. It should take them around 30 minutes to go there and prepare to strike at 1400 while the transport corp can carry the whole regiment at once. The motorized and mechanized infantry of 1,409 soldiers and their vehicle offense from the right flank by spearhead into Cambodia (They can drive up and ascend the surface as it is not much of a slope.) At the same time, 1,941 soldiers will also strike from the other flank and side, from every direction as they climb up the hill and rush into the temple of Preah Vihear with the support of 10 mortars. The light machine gun from several squads and the mounted heavy machine gun should do the support fire to cover their fellow soldiers' advance. Their objective is to get rid of the Cambodian forces from the temple before vice versa. The nearby airbases are on high alert.

As soon as the Thai were spotted or heard based on their mortars, command at the temple began to shake in their seats. They knew that even if the 1st Infantry Division were moving at full speed as they spoke, it would take at least 20 minutes for them to reach the temple. 20 minutes the understrength Gendarmerie had to withstand the blistering assault made by the Thai. Immediately they placed a radio order to the artillery, dictating that a smoke screen be laid and upkept for the duration of the defense. After all 10 guns had fired a smoke shell, leaving the target area and a small portion beyond densely covered in smoke, the guns would change to HE shells and begin shelling the area just beyond the smoke, where the Thai had been identified as coming from, swapping to smoke shells every minute or so to maintain the tick screen. The scout cars at the temple would utilize their night vision equipment to spot the Thai through the smoke and chop them down with heavy MG fire, with much of the vulnerable Gendarmerie infantry taking cover behind the half walls or within the temple itself. The BM-13 MRLSs will open fire on the same bombardment area as the Howitzers, however, additionally, they will also target areas dictated by scout car units in the field as being advanced on by Mechanized Infantry. This mechanized infantry of the Thai army will have some considerable difficulty traversing the terrain through the smoke, as while the commanders have Night Vision equipment, the drivers do not and will be relying on vocal orders to navigate the area. All the while, Gendarmerie will be reporting their positions to artillery, as well as firing on them with RPGs.

Two Battalions of the 1st Infantry division (Battalion being 1,000 men strong) will advance from their waiting position nearby towards the Thai right flank push, bringing with them the 44 type-59 tanks in the division. These troops will quickly rush up the slope towards the Thai, the tanks taking the Mechanized Infantry head-on and the infantry both aiding with additional RPGs and hopefully cutting down any dismounted infantry.

Meanwhile, another Battalion will advance against the Thai left flank, halting at the temple and helping to fortify it against the assault to replenish losses. Other units will move as dictated on the map, with noted strongpoints and defensive lines being backed up by shallow dug firing positions for prone soldiers, sand bags unloaded off of trucks, and machine gun nests put together in a hurry.

When the Thai forces began their assault, it would take less than 2 minutes for all mechanized infantry to reach their objective and release soldiers from the vehicles. It could assume that at least half of them would arrive at the destination when the Cambodians called for artillery support. With more than 150 Heavy machine guns from the Thai side harassing the Cambodian Genfarmerie in the first minute, it would be difficult for them to counterfire. At second minutes into the battle, 230 should have died while most of their scout vehicle and others get destroyed by canon or the ATGM mounted on BTR-90(Operational Standard). The Thai loses 33 soldiers and 3 GAZ Tiger from the counterfire. From two minutes, all the Thai mechanized infantry would reach the objective and successfully seize it while the shells rain down from the sky and cover the front area with a smoke screen. The smoke screen should cover most in front of the Thai objective. The Thai infantry will struggle with their vision before putting on the night vision and try to escape the bombardment when the mechanized has gone beyond the smoke screen and bombardment area and head to the deep ruins. It is reasonable that 190 Thai soldiers died from the bombardment before getting out of the zone.

Visualization of the Offensive Plan​

At 4 minutes, all mechanized infantry have already entered the deeper ruin of the Preah Vihear. All of them will get deployed from the mobility vehicle, APCs, and IFVs, while the other soldiers will arrive at 6 minutes mark. There isn't any artillery fire that aims at the area of the inner structure, and the engagement will turn to close-quarter combat. The soldiers inside the vehicle with the heavy machined guns will always fire every place the Cambodian is present, harassing and killing them to the ground. With many close fire supports, the understrength Cambodian Gendarmerie will suffer a grave time to hold their defense and fight back against the far superior Thai forces in any field. During that minutes, the Thai signal unit will communicate with the Main Operating Base to order an airstrike on the infrastructure that can lead to the Temple of Preah Vihear from Cambodia. The 403rd Fighter Squadron "Sunny" from Ubon Airbasewill receive the request at the 7-minute mark and will take off all of the aircraft at the 11-minute mark(Take off as the same as post #102). They get equipped with Bombing mission loadout with 4 ×Joint Direct Attack Munition with Mark 84 GP bomb, SUU-42A/A Flares/Infrared decoys dispenser pod and chaff pod, AN/ALQ-131 & AN/ALQ-184 ECM pods on the centerline, and 600 US gallon Sargent Fletcher drop tanks. They will arrive at around the same place when they perform the airstrike and will launch the guided bomb into the infrastructure such as the road that leads to Preah Vihear from Cambodia. They all fly at a cruise speed of 577 mph or 928.5 km/h at 9000 meters from sea level. They will launch 44 Joint Direct Attack Munitions with Mark 84 GP bombs two times at the 16 and 18-minute mark before flying back. It will destroy most of the road and infrastructure before the Cambodian 1st Infantry Division can reinforce the Gendarmerie. After some dreadful fighting at the Temple of Preah Vihear, it should end at the 20-minute mark with every Cambodian force and equipment getting killed and destroyed while the Thai only lose another 100 soldiers and a small portion of equipment. After that, they will all rush back down to their base in Sao Thong Chai and call it a day.

In the Thai's initial assault, while they would be successful at reaching the temple and beginning to infiltrate it, they would still be under fire by the over 200 scout cars and their dual machine guns. With 400 heavy machine guns with heavy armor and supporting fire from the infantry, the Gendarmerie would not go down without inflicting heavy casualties on the Thai. By the time they had beat back the majority of the scout cars and entered the temple, about 250 Thai would be dead, as well as at least 7 Thai Vehicles, with Gendarmerie forces losing around 40 infantry and dozens of scout cars. Then the bombardment would commence. Soon, the Thai would be scrambling up the hill to the temple, trying to get out of the dense smoke and raining rockets and artillery shells. The Thai would use their only thermal sights provided with the SOPMOD kits- small night sights on their rifles- to try and navigate the area. While it gave them a basic sense of awareness, in the grand scheme of things, compared to the remaining scout cars they were as blind as bats. The machine guns would ring out at those sprinting towards the temple, cutting them down. Once they reached the inside of the temple, despite their advanced loadouts and training, the Thai would be no match for superior positioning and numbers (initially). Firing through the windows and doorways, the Cambodians created mincemeat passageways for any Thai who tried to pass through. If they did breach through a doorway, Cambodians would await them in the corners to cut them down. Assuming no explosives were to be used inside of the ancient temple, as they would be destructive. If the Thai used explosives anyways, the Cambodians would use the same. While the outside defenses might fail, the internals of the temple would most certainly hold. As of this point, casualties would likely be around 640 Thai and 200 Cambodians, not including the majority of the Cambodian scout cars which would likely be destroyed by this point, leaving only about 40 operational, with less dramatic losses on the Thai vehicle's side. Now fighting was a deadlock within the sacred grounds, CQC, with no room for amour to intercede.

The 1st Infantry would watch as the Thai jets flew overhead, dropping multi-purpose bombs across the dirt roadways... creating crators, but not much else... and seeing as these strikes were run more than 11 minutes after the battle began, the infantry would already be past the road and into the jungles advancing towards the temple... with no losses, only a few battalions (Those going to the far roadways to set up roadblocks) are inconvenienced, with the two main assault forces making their way to the temple, surrounding the outside, and closing in on the flanks of the Thai...

When the assault started, the Cambodian scout cars would meet with the superior Thai mechanized forces from the right flank. With that many scout cars, they will have to struggle with the advanced canon system from the BTR-90 and BMP-3, in which the Thai forces can fire from one scout car to another in a short time while harassing with the machine gun. If they decided to fire at leg infantry, most scout cars would get destroyed, and the Thai would take cover. Thus, if all the scout cars can fire at the Thai side, they will be a vulnerable target. All of the operating crew will die. If Cambodia had only 40 vehicles left, at least 640 would have died based on the person requiring the car to be functional(Or maybe less if they don't fully loaf the system, but they will get a battlefield disadvantage). There are only a thousand Cambodian gendarmeries, should be only 160 on the 40 scout car and 200 Cambodian forces on the temple when the Thai finally reach the objective. With that, Thai would lose 7 GAZ and 40 soldiers during the assault while 250 personnel died from the bombardment. The current Cambodian Gendarmerie is far less superior to the Thai. Even only mechanized infantry should beat their foe in the CQC. After some fighting between the two sides, all the Cambodian Gendarmeire and scout cars will have been killed or destroyed. The Thai would only lose another 200 soldiers. When the Thai clear the temple, the airstrike has finished, they would meet with the Cambodian battalions that have blockaded their exit. The Thai forces now have to fight their way to return to Thailand. The Type-59 tanks will be no match for the Thai soldier and their mechanized system as they will get destroyed by the canon or various anti-tanks. Most Thai soldiers are equipped with Standard Service Rifle. They will have advance loadout, including other equipment. They still can't escape the casualties from the battle based on how much soldiers partake in the battlefield. At the current moment, there are 2,510 Thai soldiers left to fight with 3,000 Cambodian Gendarmerie. It can assume that the Thai soldier effortlessly destroys those 44 tanks in one or two blows, killing 176 Cambodian soldiers. Thai forces now destroy the Cambodian tanks, and the battle is now a distant advantage for Thailand. They can fire various equipment to support their breakthrough and slaughter the foe in their way. By the time the battle ended, all or most Cambodian soldiers should have died, and Thailand took only 1,920 casualties from the fight. They will return to their Main Operating Base afterward.

While most Cambodian scout cars would be destroyed, they would make a more significant cut into the invading forces than just 40 soldiers. The Thai would not have enough guns to immediately destroy all 200 cars, assuming they were all fully exposed, which they weren't, many in a hull-down or similar position behind half walls and shrubs, making targets more difficult to acquire. Assuming about a quarter of these cars are destroyed immediately in the assault, there would still be hundreds of heavy machine guns mounted on the rest to cut into the charging Thai infantry. About 500 Thai soldiers would die in their advance before the armored cars could be destroyed, alongside about 24 Thai Gaz, considering that both the main HMG and LMGs of the scout cars could penetrate its heaviest armor easily, including their crew of 2 and about 4 of the passengers for each incapacitated vehicle, for about 150 casualties in addition to the prior 500. However, at that point, the Cambodian scout cars would be reduced to an insignificant figure.

When the Thai returned from the slaughter in the temple, instead of meeting more Gendarmerie as they expected, they met the professional infantry of the 1st Infantry Division and their armored support. Under the fire of thousands of guns from well-trained soldiers, the Thai would struggle to take aim and eliminate the well-armored tanks, which would hold a distance away and take out the many Thai vehicles left outside of the temple.

At this point artillery would be too destructive against the temple, so the howitzers would lay down a wide circular smoke field around the temple, blocking any reinforcements from targeting the Cambodians with artillery, and obscuring their positions from airstrikes.

Laying into the confused Thai personnel, who were until now unaware of the presence of the division nearby, the Cambodians would quickly wipe out the enemy. Suffering about 1,600 casualties, the Cambodians would successfully kill or incapacitate all Thai fighters.

It is late evening in Southeast Asia, where Thailand has positioned its capital at the region's heart. On November 9th, 2000, the border dispute between Thailand and Cambodia came to light. Cambodian artillery shelled the area, and Thailand launched an airstrike. Within three months of erratic geopolitics, the tension quickly increased to the point where more than 10,000 soldiers got stationed along the border. On February 11th, 2001, the two sides' conflict finally materialized. The fighting continued that day from mid-afternoon until early evening. Approximately 6,000 soldiers from both sides had ultimately given their lives in the honorable service of their country, and Cambodia emerged victorious.

The people get filled with bitterness and vexation after the news of the conflict spread to the public. Public figures from all ideological camps immediately organize rallies in the streets across the nation, particularly in Bangkok. More than two million Thai people demonstrated their dissatisfaction with the conflict's outcome, how the Cambodian Army could defeat the Thai Military, and the number of casualties by marching along Bangkok's highways and streets that evening. It is the protest Thailand has never seen in its history. Eventually, there were enough participants to fill every available space in Bangkok. They demonstrate outside every office building of a government agency, especially in front of the Government House and the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters. Numerous law enforcement personnel are nationwide readily accessible to support the demonstrators in their long-lasting public protest. A representative from each political party appears simultaneously in various locations throughout Thailand to express approval for their right to free speech. The political atmosphere gets enlivened when each MP and other figures compete for support in their planned two-year election campaign.

"I thank you, everyone, for being here with me. I know that we are not in a peaceful time, but I am here to inform you of what has happened. The Republic of Thailand and the Kingdom of Cambodia have recently brought up a border dispute subject at the Temple of Preah Vihear. The Foreign Ministry contacted the Cambodians regarding the possibly ICJ case on the same topic, which we informed as an act of diplomatic approach. By the time we deemed that Cambodia agreed with us, they deployed 1,000 paramilitary personnel into the area while closing the border with us; Thailand. There had been no military-like placement at the Temple of Preah Vihear for almost 40 years, in which both governments had agreed not to incite one another. We were concerned that Cambodia wouldn't follow a diplomatic solution toward a peaceful settlement, so we requested them to withdraw the existing forces. Cambodia then returned us with a more aggressive approach to us. We had received intelligence of possibly and probably military buildup near our border, and it worried us as Cambodia process a capable military. To respond to such action from Cambodia, I called a security meeting with the Defence Minister and the General Staff. We decided to deploy the 121st Infantry Regiment to reinforce our border against the area near the Temple of Preah Vihear. After we attempted to coordinate with the Cambodian forces and their government, we demanded that they would withdraw their paramilitary and other military buildups. I informed my Chief Strategist that we would give Cambodia a week to comply with our wish. Unfortunately, Cambodia failed to act, and we had to decide decisively; to withdraw Cambodian soldiers by force. By the time we had successfully pushed back the paramilitary presence there, Cambodia had ordered their stationed troops and slaughtered all of our soldiers. Cambodia has forcefully rejected withdrawing its forces from the Temple of Preah Vihear, which we never intend to deploy our soldiers there. As a result of Cambodia's involvement in the dispute, which turned into a border conflict, Thailand is now more aware of Cambodia's aggressive intentions. Although we have retaliated, Cambodia is more antagonistic than we had anticipated. I, the Prime Minister of Thailand, call for a pause in hostilities and a demilitarized zone around the Preah Vihear Temple from both sides of the border. Thank you." Thaksin walks out of the room while the guards cover his path, escorting him into the main hall and his office.

At the Prime Minister's office, the Defence Minister, the Foreign Affairs Miniter, the Interior Minister, and the Chief of Armed Forces gathered in his room. The office is full of cutting-edge technology for real-time situation reports and coordination from around the country. There is an already ongoing controversy in the room. "We can't just go to war! There is always a peaceful and diplomatic solution. We have already caused too much regional instability." | "What will you say about the threat Cambodia poses to us after your so-called diplomatic solution with them." | We must act and retaliate immediately! | "What exactly is going on here?" | " Mr. Prime Minister, we are discussing what we should do in the current situation. This room is full of shouting, and I can't find something productive in it." The Defence Minister and Chief of Armed Forces salute Thaksin. | Welcome, Mr. Prime Minister. I am gladful that you are finally here. I need you to concentrate and decide our next step. | "Mr. Prime Minister, I thank you for how you demanded a ceasefire instead of threatening them with another fight. We must not escalate the tension any further like what Cambodia did." | "Sir, I have to remind you that our Armed Forces are the most powerful in Southeast Asia and one of the most capable in the world. We will show them we are not weak, especially since we have abandoned our high-reliable equipment at the Temple of Preah Vihear." Before Thaksin can speak, the Interior Minister interjected. "Please hear me out, everyone. There are currently more than ten million people out there protesting our administration. I believe that Prime Minister's speech will help with the situation, but I must propose something. Thailand has never projected its actual Armed Forces might. I suggest we perform a military parade instead of another War in Laos." There is a little pause in the room. "I support and agree with your suggestion. We do not need to send our men to die, and our Prime Minister has already made it clear in the speech." | "We are all up to your decision. What do you think?" | "We will hold a military parade tomorrow. That's my conclusion." | As your command. If it is appropriate, I have to leave now. After deliberation, they all leave to resume work.

At the National Intelligence Agency Headquarters, one of the most secure and advanced facilities, thousands of operatives throughout Thailand. Since the Preah Vihear Incident, there has been an espionage operation on an unidentified armed target, and the whereabouts of the missing field commander remain a mystery. The NIA must step up its security due to the impending threat from Cambodia. Despite the massive demonstration in Bangkok, not a single protester has yet been able to approach the perimeter. It is yet unknown to the public what is happening inside, but the security measure proves that something emergent is going on. In a large hall where many are gathering hall, many operatives are exchanging their information. There is also news regarding the new power struggle in East Asia. "Activities at various representative offices in Taipei have increased. I've heard that diplomatic channels from Taipei are open both in and out. I anticipate increased tension later this year, possibly in the middle." Despite the ongoing investigative cases throughout the country, it remains possible that the prime minister has received a proposal about the new espionage in Cambodia.

Thailand's military parade is taking place on this typically beautiful day. To demonstrate their capabilities to the world and symbolize the power of the Thai Armed Forces, the Defense Minister has ordered the 2nd Infantry Division to travel directly to Bangkok. The Prime Minister has permitted the parade at Phra Nakhon and Sanam Luang. After the day of the largest protest Thailand has ever seen and the threat of war from Cambodia, a massive crowd gathers at the parade to participate in the assurance of their country's sovereignty. Numerous broadcasting companies and their reporters are present at Sanam Luang today to cover this event in Thailand. The 406th Fighter Squadron "Focus" of the Kamphaeng Saen Airbase is preparing for its performance at the same time.

The time is morning. In the prime minister's uniform, Thaksin is at home preparing for the military parade. He comes from his room to the aroma of his wife cooking when he descends the stairs. For him and Thailand, today is a big day. His daughter, two sons, and other family members are in the kitchen to support him at the parade. After spending time with his family, he leaves his house and meets with his driver, Serge. Thaksin gets into a car, and the driver then greets him. "Mr. President. How is your morning today?" | "I'm fine with a little nervous. Thanks for asking me, Serge. How is yours so far?" Serge starts driving while the Premier Protection Service (PPS) follows the vehicle. "Every day, I have a better morning. My wife has just given birth to our new child. I must thank you for your economic program, which gives me confidence that we will be able to raise a third child." Thaksin smiles when he hears what Serge has said. "I am happy to hear that the Welfare Program gives your such assurance." They keep chit-chatting until they get close to Sanam Luang. More than a few hundred thousand people have congregated nearby. "Sir, we're almost to Sanam Luang. I am beginning to recognize the might of our Armed Forces." Many people applaud him and raise the Thai flag as the car passes by the crowd. Thaksin is now in front of the Defence Minister building. Many reporters are waiting for him to appear out of the vehicle. "See you at the parade, Serge. Don't forget to drive me to the car that I will be in." Serge salutes him. Thaksin then leaves the vehicle when his guard opens the door for him. Many flashes from the camera welcome him brightly while he gets bombarded with questions. One of the reporters manages to get through the security. "Mister Prime Minister! The Opposition and the House Speaker are currently united against you to decrease your Premier decree in this time of instability. How can you assure the people to lead the nation when the political figures divide your coalition government into wings." | "I am working with my administration to ensure unity in our assembly. I am always open to cooperating with the Opposition." Thaksin walks into the building while the guards block the reporters.

At the same time, many soldiers in combat uniforms armed themselves with M4A1 and marched down the road from the Sanam Luang and paraded along the street of Phra Nakhon. The approximately 21,000 soldiers participate in the parade while hundreds of thousands of civilians watch the discipline. In the course of over ten kilometers march, about 1,200 pieces of military equipment appear on the sight and the broadcast. There are merely 200 APCs and IFVs combined, 600 armored Infantry Mobility vehicles, 150 tanks, 92 Self-Propelled Howitzers, an ATGM system, more than a hundred military trucks, several UAVs, and 40 Helicopters. This military parade has impressed millions of people watching from everywhere. They take a careful look at the soldiers and equipment. They see that everything is immaculately maintained and appears to be brand-new. The uniforms and gear each soldier is wearing demonstrate the military preparedness of the Thai Armed Forces. All participants in the march move at the same controlled speed, showing and guaranteeing the effectiveness of the Thai Armed Forces. In the middle of the parade, the Prime Minister of Thailand is in the convertible car following the march. The Royal Thai Armed Forces Chief and the Minister of Defense are also in the same procession. When they look up, they notice a group of aircraft passing above them. A total of 25 F-16 AM/BM Block 20 MLU combined create the Thai flag over Bangkok. While the pilots enjoy the parade view, the Focus Squadron performs aerial maneuvers to showcase their flying prowess.

When the Prime Minister arrives at Sanam Luang, he walks up the platform in front of over 21,000 soldiers while he gets broadcasted nationwide. He stands at the microphone with the Defence Minister and the Armed Forces Chief while many guards are there. He starts speaking ceremonial script before turning into his statement. "...[and] with the might of Thai Armed Forces that we have shown to the world. I want to intimidate the enemy of Thailand so that we are ready to do what it costs to defend our homeland. As we always respect the National Anthem: Thais are peace-loving but are not cowards in war." He then finishes the statement before dismissing the soldiers participating in the parade. At this time, the Grand Military Parade has come to an end. Bangkok has once again proven that it can continue to play a significant role in Southeast Asia. The region's power dynamics are shifting more and more in Thailand's favor. Only time will tell if a country with this much influence alone in Southeast Asia will become more dominant or fall.

Across Cambodian state media, a horrible video would be aired. It showed the early stages of the fighting around the temple of Preah Vihear, the first wave of Thai soldiers in their AFVs streaking across the border towards the Cambodian nationals, entrenched in their rightful territory. A solemn voice-over would explain the situation. "At 2 pm on the 11th of February, 2001, not very long ago at all, Thai regulars made an unprecedented assault onto Cambodian land, as dictated by the International Court of Justice, 37 years ago. 37 years of rightful ownership of our land. Under consistent threat from the fearmongering Thai, who have recently raped the nation of Laos, we stationed Gendarmerie there to ensure that the Thai did not try to cross our border as they have many times before... that was when our valiant patriots faced a horde of enemies. They fought long and they fought hard for their cultural heritage, tooth and nail, hanging on to every inch of that temple as their blood seeped into its crevices, and they joined our ancestors." Video would be shown from the inside of the temple, showing several Gendaermerie standing behind a doorway, shooting around the corner, before being shot down one by one. The last man, bleeding out on the ground, continues to fire at the attackers before a Thai soldier walks up to him, firing a bullet square into his skull, before repeating the process with the other dead or bleeding out Cambodians- assuring they were in fact dead. The narration continues. "Then, the powerful 1st Infantry Division arrived, with their armored and artillery support, quickly wiping out the Thai resistance, and reclaiming the temple once again. We lost, 2,600 men. 2,600 patriots. 2,600 heroes, martyrs, brothers, fathers, and husbands. They will all be buried on the grounds of the temple, as guardians. Who lived, and died, for Cambodia." Video showing the digging of graves, the burial of fighting men with bloodied cloths covering their bodies, and the filling in of the graves and marking with rifles stuck barrel-end into the soft dirt. A final scene is shown of thousands of these rifles, protruding from freshly disturbed dirt, filling a large field, the temple visible on the horizon.

Prime Minister Hun Sen reclined back in a chair in the capital. Around him, his lead generals and political advisers were present, aside from those in control of the military regions bordering Thailand. "Gentlemen, we have a predicament here. Quite the predicament. We have a modernized Thai army and air force pushing senseless aggression, knocking on our front door. Tell me. What is our plan." After a moment of thought, the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, Ke Kim Yan, spoke up. "Considering the massive advantage that Thailand already has over us, I would suggest that we call up our full reserve forces. With the full backing of the government, we could introduce another 200,000 men into service within a month, if rushed. Being prior service members, this could very well nearly triple our active forces." There was a long pause. Nobody liked what they heard, however, nobody dared to say it wasn't the best route to take. Then, the minister of national defense, Tea Banh, chimed in. "I would like to suggest an additional precaution. We have millions of men fit for combat training right now throughout the country, and a very, very limited number engaged in the military." The prime minister stopped him. "Mr. Banh, I would strongly suggest that you rethink what you are about to say. If it is the right decision... I will implement it. However, if it is wrong, you will have hell to pay, from the people, and from me. You will surely lose your position, your wealth, and your safety. So think hard before you speak." The Commander-in-Chief watched closely from his side of the table, staring daggers at the Minister of defense. "I believe it is in the best interest of the safety of the nation if we draft about 250,000 able-bodied men and women for immediate training in the armed forces. This would consist of about 4.5% of our eligible populace. It would be a controversial move and it would likely hurt the economy to some degree. However, when the fate of the nation hangs in the balance, it could be our best chance at combatting the fearsome Thai threat. I would also suggest that we make provisions and preparations for a further draft of about 500,000 men if the current conflict with Thailand continues to decline." The room was dead silent. A minute passes by, and nothing is said. "So be it. Make the preparations. Draw the draft cards. Send the notices." The men all file out of the room, dragging their feet, begrudging determination on their faces. They know that with these orders, they have committed to what will be a long, hard fight for their nation. Hun Sen takes out a small hand-rolled cigarette and lights it before placing a call to his Chinese counterpart. (Axis12)

Throughout the streets of Phnom Penh, usually drenched in an oppressive layer of grey, brown, and black filth, bright pops of red and blue hang from windows and doorways. The streets are alive, with people crowding around televisions in storefronts to hear the latest of the tragedy at the Temple of Preah Vihear. They're temple, they are told. A man with a flag in his hands marches down the street, with a band of other ethnic Khmer men bearing large bludgeoning weapons and blades behind him. They arrive at a meat market, one with an empty flagpole outside of it. The flag had been torn down by the owners in a hurry to avoid what was about to happen. Running into the shop, a dozen salesmen looked up from their stalls and attempted to scatter. But the attackers were fast and brutal, catching the fleeing men by their hair and clothing, tossing them to the floor before brutally beating and slashing them as others tossed merchandise to the dirt and set fires. Soon smoke filled the air and bodies littered the floor. The flag that had been hanging outside was found on a bench, brought out to the middle of the market, and stomped to the ground before being lit on fire. The colors of the Thai flag burned away slowly as the men ran away, sirens beginning to wail in the distance, smoke billowing up from the Thai run and staffed meat market. Similar events would unfold across the city, with upwards of 200 men being admitted to the hospital, all of Thai backgrounds. However, many were turned away, and soon following attacks made on the hospitals where grievously wounded Thai men were dragged out of their beds and into the streets for public stonings, all were turned away for safety concerns. A burning Thai flag was a common sight in the city, and by nighttime, violent riots and bands of Thai hunters walked through streets lit by torches and the burning homes of Thai families, their heads obscured with hoods, and uncontrolled by police who had taken a backseat, protecting government buildings and Cambodian owned businesses, which were rarely targeted anyways. Soon, the local ethnic Thai population in Phnom Penh, and Cambodia as a whole, understood its unwelcomeness, and slipped quietly into the shadows of the city, to avoid beatings or death. The Gendarmerie of the special bodyguard unit in Phnom Penh went door to door in pairs of two, one man holding his rifle at the ready, the other holding draft papers. As they hit hundreds of houses each, they met varying responses. Many men were glad to finally be called up from the reserve, especially in this trying time, although some were more reluctant. However, they had no choice, as the punishments for noncompliance were harsher than any of them imagined the wars to be. The civilians conscripted as a part of the 250,000-man draft were far less receptive, although generally, a combination of patriotism, fury, and fear compelled them to answer the call. They would begin their training outside of the city immediately, being shipped off to train with each of the Infantry divisions, excluding of course the 1st division. The reserve troops would get priority, and would likely be fully combat ready in a half month when the new draftees would be shipped to the training field and begin their lengthy process of training.

The most delicate topic that could harm Thailand and the entire world gets discussed here; if anyone releases it, the earth will erupt into chaos. In one corner of such room, a group of three individuals is gossiping, leaving no conversation sound beyond them. " I can guarantee the information we require is in my report." The man then proceeds to show a shore map somewhere with marks on it. Then, for a few minutes, the discussion in the room switched from language to language as a peculiar rhythmic sound suddenly rang out. Another group of individuals is moving around the room while conversing in Cambodian, to which they receive no Thai responses. They stop at the fax machine equipped with a high-security system, the encipher, and the decipher. One of them moves in front of the others and inserts papers, sending them to Cambodia. In Cambodia, Sam Rainsy, President of the Sam Rainsy Party, will receive the message directly from his office. Condemnation of the Kingdom of Cambodia Government​

We have observed a breakdown in Cambodian law enforcement and authority to maintain social security within its nation after close observation by the Republic Government of Thailand. Over 70 people were killed yesterday as a result of inhumane violence against our citizens in Cambodia. Regarding other cases, many hospitals and clinics in Cambodia have turned away our nation by discriminating treatment of the patient. The Republic Government of Thailand is concerned about the state of affairs in Cambodia. We are dissatisfied with the country's law enforcement and government for failing to protect our citizens residing in Cambodia. The Thai government opposes all acts of violence against ethnic minorities worldwide, and we also oppose Cambodia's healthcare system's discriminatory treatment of patients. More than 8,000 paramilitary units actively patrol the borderland day and night. Sam Rainsy sat in his political office, a nondescript building in Phnom Penh, watching local news showing both the recent violence in the city as well as the attacks by Thailand against Laos and Cambodia. Two staffers chatted in a corner, thinking of how they could spin the recent events in the next election. Rainy himself thought it to be deplorable on the behalf of every party- the Cambodians' response was certainly not diplomatic, not de-escalating at all. But then again, the Thais were the aggressors, committing horrendous crimes in Laos. That's when a third staffer came in from a side corridor, a small manilla folder in his hands. His movements were off somehow, though Rainy couldn't quite place why. He handed him the folder, marked urgent by a stamp in red ink, and immediately grabbed the two others and dragged them out of the room, leaving Rainy alone at his desk. Opening it up, a black and white Thai flag, TOP SECRET... He read through the document. He closed the blinds. He played a local radio show out very loudly, to the point where nothing in the room could be heard. Locking the door, he drafted a response. He would invite interested parties to his office for discussions.

The well-liked prime minister of Thailand, Thaksin, is sitting at this desk, his face hidden by a computer monitor from anyone entering the room. He has always watched the news on the television in his office, so he is typically aware of breaking events. An anchor for a news program begins by providing updates about Phnom Penh and the rest of Cambodia. He reads from a piece of paper in his left hand with the official statement of Cambodia written on it. Even though they claimed that no one with Thai nationality suffered harm, Thai nationalism in the nation doesn't seem to care much about it. He keeps pecking away at his keyboard. Then, a man in a black suit knocks and comes into his office. "Please excuse me, Mr. Prime Minister. The Foreign Minister has informed you that, while we await the British Forces to exercise, he wants you to ease the current border situation. It's something the Defense Ministry has been urging for quite some time. Thank you." The man walks away, and Thaksin continues what he has been doing.​
